Rahman said he couldnt see, then he also said "its over" then the doc left. You can see why he panicked and didnt think it was fair, but he still quit.
Whilst I am glad that Toney go the win, the end does seem strange. I'd like further clarification of what just happend. If a butt caused the cut and the doctor stops the fight becuase of the damage then I imagine they wouldn't have gone to the scorecards. It could be that the doctor ruled that Rahman was okay to continue but he quit - hence the TKO. All this drama and I've gotta be in work in a few hours. I'm ****ing knackered!
Yes there was as they worked on it in his corner, that cut was massive and I seriously doubt he'll say he can't see properly when he can. Right after the cut happened he started taking shots Toney couldn't land in 2 rounds before that happened, it's common sense.
If it was after the 4th round - scorecards. Before 4th - NC. Bogus decision, should be appealed and made a NC.
Rahman was asked how is the cut and he answered honestly claiming he couldn't see then the doctor immediatley waved it off, no one asked Rahman if he wanted to continue. If they did and his answer was "No" then sure, it's a TKO. But based on the rules this should be a NC.
true but the point was that rahman was cut...not bad enough for the first few rounds. then when the doc looked at it he most defintly impolied that he couldnt continue. he could of continued thats the whole point. it wasnt bleeding alot it was just a fine fine cut along the top of his left eyebrow. it was implied by rahman that he couldnt continue and that he coudlnt see(thats what he said) and thats what the gripe should be more focused on
That's true but he was never asked if he wanted to continue or not, he was only asked how bad the cut was and his answer was honest, he simply couldn't see well. If he said he didn't want to continue or CAN'T continue then the TKO is well deserved but according to the rules if the doctor stops it(which he did) then it's a NC before the 4th(got mixed up and thought they go to the cards earlier in my posts with all the complications but thanks to Pharaoh for clearing that up). It was an accidental headbutt and the cut was pretty deep and big, usually the doctor will ask the corner and the fighter if they CAN or WANT to continue, that didn't happen here.
ok im watchin him in the corner. its CLEAR the blood was in his eye when they cleaned it out. it could have made his eyes water or made his vision blurry you guys need to shut the **** up this will be a NC by the end of the month
i didnt claim **** about the rules *** ...i just said rahman shouldn't care what the decision is if his eye was that bad... look son if you're gonna argue with daddy at least get your ****ing facts straight ..and stop putting words in my mouth
This decision should not be overturned. JT was rightly awarded the TKO. Rahman quits. He said it himself in the post-interview "i can't fight jt with one eye. wahh wahh..." The doctor stopped the fight based not on the cut but on Rahman's unwillingness to continue. When a fighter tells a doctor he can't continue or doesn't want to fight anymore, and the fight get' s stopped, then that is treated as the fighter quitting as opposed as the doctor stopping the fight. Oh yeah. JT IS BACK!
