Even if he said he can't see or can't continue(which he didn't and wasn't DIRECTLY asked, this is based on an indirect question) before the 4th when a fight is stopped from an accidental headbutt then it's a NC. That's what the rules say, if it was a PUNCH that caused this then it's a TKO right away but that's not what happened man.
It's true that Rahman wanted a NC but didn't get it because the rules were clearly twisted here but that should be justified, if you boxed you'll know that. The man was in a bad position and had EVERYTHING to lose, he desperately needed that win and with a cut like that he's giving Toney a HUGE advantage so early in the fight and it was clear with all the bombs Toney was all of a sudden landing freely when he clearly couldn't do 2 rounds before it. I'm hardly a Rahman fan but some people need to be reasonable here.
What's got to be sorted out here is, was the doctor interpreting Rock saying "I can't see" as a form of quitting? Technically that isn't by-the-book proper, but it could still stand as a fighter-initiated retirement. If the doctor's thought process was "Well he can't see, so I'm using what he says to inform my diagnosis in lieu of physical examination and making it my professional opinion that the fight needs to be stopped for medical reasons" - which would mean it should be a NC, but would still be technically improper, as he's supposed to thoroughly examine the cut and not just take the fighter's word for it. Either way the doc screwed up. TKO or NC, there's still technicality wiggle room.
Yeah Rahman was being real slick but it backfired and since he whole heartedly admitted that really didnt want the fight to go on, the officials would be fools to overturn it
look champ it was what he said..,it was not because of the head butt..,but his words.., and he did say "i cant see" it was his words mate!!! if he didnt say it id agree with you but he said it..,why you hangin on so tight your usually slicker than this.., DAN SEASON

I never said that did I? I'm not even defending the stance of it. I'm just saying this falls in line with Hasim Rahman's career....where he fails epically through epic means. The decision will probably be reversed and they'll fight again at somepoint...similar to how the Soto decision got reversed.
There's no offense between you and me bro, just discussing here. :good It's true that Rahman said he can't see but let's just claim he also said he can't continue, shouldn't the rule be a NC considering it was a from an accidental headbutt which happened before the 4th?
Hoping for it, just added some more to that post, didn't necessarily mean you said anything you didn't. :good
NO THE DOCTOR DIDNT SCREW UP..,if you say you cant see the doc will stop the fight..,quickest way to get a fight stopped is just like he did it!!!! DAN LAW
The doctor should've asked more than once..and DEFINITELY should've said "Can you continue?" If he says it again you cut the cord on the fight.
