Toney that beat Barkley instead of Taylor, would he walk the super 6?

Why even mention RJJ? Of course he loses to RJJ.

But more interestingly why not talk about his draws with no-namer Sanderline Williams?

Or his draw with Mike McCallum who has lost to Kalambay, and would go on to lose to Tiozzo in a UD? In the rematch Toney only managed a MD.

Or Toney's loss to Griffin, who would go on to be exposed and Ko'ed in TWO minutes by RJJ only 8 months later?

Or the defeat to Thadzi who had lost to Sadik, Cole, Wesley Reid, Lesslie Stewart, Art Bayliss, Adolpho W., E. Mateen, and many more - and who was humiliated and KTFO by Dariuz only months after beating Toney?

and Jirov..... tell us - what was Jirov's signature win before he fought Toney? Was it Castro, Letterlough, Adolpho or who? These were the three he fought right before Toney. Not before fighting Toney, nor after has Jirov beaten anyone of interest.

Pathetic talking about Toney in the same level as RJJ - or any way near. Only in terms of his mouth can he compete - and in the imagination of his puerile fans (whom to my experience are fully beyond reach from fact)

To play devil's advocate for a moment, Joe, you didn't disconfirm Toney's semi-greatness. The previous posters noted that he was great when he was disciplined and committed, and only falls from grace due to his lack of consistency.

For every shitty performance, he has a few good ones. And based off of those alone, he'd be a shoe in to demolish the current Super 6.. That is, if he were to execute the consistency needed to bring about those performances :)

Also, Toney's competition > the competition any of the Super 6 have faced (though some still got quite a bit of time left to change that)

Roy having a tough time with these six is the worst post of the year.

Jones would HUMLIATE Froch, scoring a KO in whatever round he wanted.

    AA would lose about 119-109

Dirrell would lost every second of every round

    Taylor would get beaten down

Ward could win a few rounds, but that's it.

And Kessler would end up like Hopkins. Wina few, lose a few and lose a few big.

Jones in his prime could have seriously fought and beaten all 6 in 12 months.

People tend to forget what RJJ was at MW and SMW. He was a nightmare for any fighter. At least as quick as dirrell, HUGE power, explosive, damn near impossible to hit flush, kills you on the outside then kicks your ass on the inside if you ever do manage to catch him. RJJ at 168 was something to behold. I will say flat out he's the greatest fighter EVER at 160 to 168, and 2nd place really isn't that close. It will be a looong time before we see something like that again.

Sorry Bernie thats kinda incorrect. Roy Jones was never a defensive genius. He was just never hit by a lot of opponents because of the "Tyson effect". Some opponents were just too scared to swing at Roy. Roy was always open, but thats because he was always on the offense, looking for a chance to hit you. Its just a matter of who gets there first, and Roy always got there first.

That being said, Toney and Jones were a class or two above all these fighters in the super 6. These guys would have gotten thrashed by Michael Nunn, McClellan, Benn, Eubank, all of em. I don't think any of them can hit as hard as guys like Eubank either.

Only guy I see with any potential is Andre Ward. So I guess we'll see how he does.

He would kill AA in the later rounds, just look at the Prince Williams - Toney fight. AA is taylor made for James Toney who would destroy him with body punches and set him up for a late stoppage. AA did not like the few body shots of Taylor, Toney is an ecxellent body puncher tecnician.

As for Ward, I agree.Toney would have to settle for a competitive decision win against this guy.

You clearly do not know boxing and be aware that is always possible to pick apart anybody's resume even Roy jones's. Roy Jones himself stated on numerous occasion and again recently that James Toney is a great fighter.

Why did you quote me? Was it cuz u agreed with me? I think AAs chin would hold up against Toney but toney definitley outboxes him,Abarham doesnst throw enough punches to beat TOney. You either got to outhustle Toney or be a slick boxing speedster. Thats why I think Dirrell and Ward would do better against Toney than abarham. Yey I saw the Toney/PRince Williams fight live it was on the same card as Delahoya/Paez I believe the MGM had just opened brand new. I also agree on what you told that guy who dissected Toneys Record you could actually make anybodys Record bad if you dissect the way that guy did:-(
