Even as early as the Nunn fight. Toney would've had problems with my man Nunn regardless but he at least would've won more rounds. I can't blame him for the RJJ loss he really didn't lose weight properly and still showed good defense. Toney has learned the ol school technique from the best and showed incredible natural ability when he was in the ring but discipline always was his problem.
Toney's adviser John Arthur seems to be reluctant with regard to the potential Toney-Banks fight. Here are some of his comments: "Banks is a runner. We are not interested in fighting frontrunners. If it don't not make dollars, it don't make sense. In fact I have another heavyweight he could fight, if he gets past him, he can fight James". I don't know why the heck Arthur made these comments, they certainly dont do Toney any good. James Toney is in desperate need of a performance against a TOP 20 heavyweight, the Banks fight is as good of a fight he will get right now. All Toney has been doing his lately is talking, he already backed out of a Thompson fight, he certainly is not position to let another opportunity go. It is hard to be a Toney fan these days.
