He should have entered camp looking like he is. Even that would take some serious training to work off.

Man the bloke dont give a ****..He thinks being gifted with great boxing skills is enough.

Lets be honest the bloke aint got the build to be any higher then light heavyweight. His poor diet and discipline got him to heavyweight..He has skinny legs and soft tummy and flabby as arms..

**** Toney you could of been so much more if you just pulled your head out of your own ass.

Being tough, talented and a natural doesn't win him boxing fights let alone MMA fights. Man I hope he can light Randy up.

From all the footage I see, even his boxing don't look good. He looks so fat that he can't tuck up properly. He'll roll but he can't tuck up. On the bag and pads he don't look that agile. Young Toney was agile, old Toney became static because he was tough enough and slick enough to stand in the pocket. His punches look quite wild too.

You don't think maybe he's having to adjust to having to box in the context of a MMA fight?

Maybe but I don't see how wild punches will help him. Chuck and Fedor can throw wild punches cos they have the grappling to back up the possibility of being taken down etc

You are right though, wilder, heavier punches could bring about the desired result quicker.

You are exactly right. At a proper weight? OK maybe Toney's striking could be a factor. However at this weight? One side shuffle by Randy before the shoot and by the time Toney wheels that big frame around? Takedown.

This is all the right fight with the wrong person.

Toney looks to be training very hard... and he looks like he is in very good shape as well.

You must never have boxed before, because his punches did not loolk wild at all. At a certain moment, he threw a short and powerful uppercut-hook and some short powerful body hooks. Couture will feel those, I guarantee you that.

I'm not gonna pull rank like you have tried but I know my boxing. If you don't think alot of those shots are wild then I know you don't know what you are talking about. Couture will obviously feel them but they've got to land.

Wilder shots can be heavier due to more leverage but they take longer to get from A to B too. It's a two way street. I can see him hitting the pads and following through/over shooting - that ain't MMA boxing, thats just technically incorrect boxing.

I will admit when i watch this footage the first two things i say to myself are:

**** Toney still looks like ****...Condition wise.

His punching looks sloppy...This is James Toney we are talking about here.Usually one of the slickest in the fightgame..
