Specifically, Toney who hammered Holyfield verse Old Foreman, who still held the lineal belt? Does George give the young upstart a good beating?? Or does Toney add another veteran to his cv?
Foreman kills Toney ,he'd hit Toney on the arms ,shoulders, hips and then one to the head to end the beating
I’ll be happy to ....did you see the first Sam Peter fight ? It was so controversial that the WBC ordered a rematch. A lot of people thought he won it ....secondly the post says 1995 George Foreman .... the same George Foreman who was outboxed by Tommy Morrison and had a tough time with Alex Stewart (controversial decision). He was getting his ass kicked by Michael Moorer before landing the big shot .....THAT version of George Foreman may not be better than Peter
Lets say I humor you and say Peter is somehow better than Foreman (who won a belt and Peter couldn't despite being in a weaker era with 4 belts). How does Toney win? I saw that fight and it was close but hardly a robbery. Whenever Peter pressed the issues and imposed his size on Toney he couldn't do much except cover up against the ropes. Peter also hammered away with his jab, which wasn't nearly as good as Foreman's. Foreman is a better body puncher than Peter regardless of who you think was better. A blubbery counter puncher like Toney cannot afford to take too many body shots. Toney has a great chin and amazing defense. One of my favorite fighters. But he had severe flaws at heavyweight. For One he lacks power. I don't see him putting a dent in Foreman if Holyfield, Cooney, and Morrison couldn't make him flinch. He lacks reach and is very short. Toney may be slick but I don't see why Foreman won't be able to just shove and maul him like he did every other small fighter. He isn't outjabbing foreman and Will have a hard time countering him with the reach disadvantage and Foreman's rough house tactics. He isn't going to ko foreman in a million years so what exactly is the game plan here? You also neglected to mention Toney lost the rematch to Peter.
It basically comes down to how much Foreman has left ...which is why the title says the 1995 ....I’m not arguing that Toney beats any good version of George. But after George turned 46 ...his opponents were carefully selected ( of course)
I could see that for sure. The young version of Foreman would put a hurting on James. People wrongly think he was just a crude banger but he was much more than that. I'm not as keen on the 95 version and I could see Toney winning on points but I wouldn't put money on it. Foreman was a very smart guy and it only took one mistake to get crushed by him.
I would pick the 190 pound version for toney who fought jirov to beat the Foreman who fought Morrison. George wouldnt land enough to hurt the indestructible wonder James toney
