ActuallyToney has the better jab in the fight.I do not know what fight you watched.Toney took it based on clean punches.Peter landed the more hurtful shots but they were far and few between
I watched Peter vs Toney 1. I described very specific moments that I wouldn't be able to if I didn't watch it. Toney did not land enough clean punches in the later rounds and it cost him the fight. Peter was starting to land his jab a lot more as the fight went on and took some rounds on aggresison. You could argue Toney won a split decision but by no means was it a "robbery" in the sense that he clearly won at least 8 rounds. A few rounds were even and could have gone either way. Toney rarely had rounds where he completely outboxed Peter in a 1 sided affair.
It was a robbery. You could have it close, it was a clear win for Toney.I did not see what you described above and had Toney up by 3 points
Toney sucked at HW. You guys need to just accept that and move on. You are blinded by all the success he had at the lower divisions and can't cope with his failures at that weight. The Ruiz fight was a brilliant performance over a mediocre opponent that unfortunately doesn't count due to the drug test. He beat washed up Holyfield. What's left? A supposed robbery over plodding obese caveman Samuel Peter? Even if you want to argue he won, there isn't much else other than unconvincing fights with Rahman. That isn't enough for me to think he beats any version of Foreman. This would be a massacre. If the similarly sized Qawi and Cooper couldn't get Foreman's respect with their punching power what on Earth do you think Toney would accomplish when he lands on him? One brutal kidney shot or flush uppercut and you'd see Toney go down and it might be the one time you see him stay down.
I am saying he won Peter I, not that he was a great heavyweight. But he did OK, you gotta put into perspective that this is a guy who started out at 160. I haven't given my opinion on the Foreman matchup.
Yeah he did ok. Like I said, you could argue he won a close fight but he wasn't boxing circles around Peter or anything. I may be wrong and I am willing to rewatch it and score it but that's not what this thread is about.
