Toney v lebedev ko

Toney's gonna have to put a bad whipping on him to get a decision, and with his high contact style it's going to be tough, especially since Lebedev is really aggressive. If James has something left he should be able to eat him up with counters, but I wonder if he can punch enough at this point.

James looks good in the pictures, face looks much better and slimmer, but theres a lot of grey in that beard. Really hope he can pull it off, and hope even more - though i'm not too worried - that he won't get stopped.

I want James to win although I am worried about the weight loss and what that will do to him. I hope he is not weakened because Lebedev is a guy Toney would have beaten easily in his prime. Now? I am not sure. Toney has to be a little weakened.

 

Yeah, I hope he doesn't do a Chris Bird or an Oscar De La Hoya and try to lose more than is necessary. Try to get down to a standing weight of 208 or so, and drain the last eight pounds. No more than that, because at 43 it's a lot more difficult to sweat it off healthily than at 35.

Still, just judging from the face he looks good. His arms are still huge however, much more bulked than Jirov, wish he wouldn't lift so much anymore, and just try to get fit, slim. But, James has been in the sport four decades now, if he still has it left he'll get it done. He has to know, 100 percent, that this is his last shot.

 

James will Ko this fool, He leave himself wide open Toney will have a field day.

 

I know, he knows this is his last big fight if he does not win. I just cannot see how the weight loss will not hurt him, but he is so much better than this guy we will see. After 5 rounds he might not have the energy and could lose a decision. Lebedev has to keep the pressure on Toney if he wants to win. The weight loss thing for Toney is what worries me, since he didn't just go up in weight between fights he fought high in weight. Now he has been down in weight awhile, but it will affect him no matter what anyone says. I hope it doesn't. I like James. He is good friends with my favorite fighter Thomas Hearns, so I always want him to win.

Lebedev is a hard ****er. This fight will end in a bad way for Toney, and it will be lights out.

Toney is a pretty tough cookie himself.

 

Lebedev is more of a Mafia gangster, a tough guy who seems quite intimidating. I've never thought he had much boxing skill.
If Toney can handle the weightloss, and get fair scoring, he fights from the pocket all night and earns a UD.

 

No doubt, but that is behind him now.

He is setting himself up to get hurt badly imo. Lebedev may not look impressive, but he will wear Toney down and make him ache, he needs to hang them up.

 

Toney has a better chance of pointing out Russia on a map than he does of winning this fight.

Given the way he talks in that video above I'm not so sure about that.
