Toney-Thompson was a compelling match; this is just the opposite. I can't remember the last time Fres was in an entertaining fight. That said, I don't blame Toney for such a crappy match-up. What could he do? Thompson pulled out and he needed to fight somebody. Fres has a bit of a name, and is at least somewhat credible, certainly compared to someone like Danny Batchelder. This should be a real snooze-fest. If Toney has anything left he should win by UD.

Agreed, I take Toney by UD.

Toney should not focuse on knocking the guy out but on his subtle defensive moves like he did against Rahman. He has had a long career and does not need to take unnecessary punishment.

As Frost stated, it could indeed be beneficial if Toney gets a ranking. Toney-Tompson could then become an eleiminator. That would be great.

I am still waiting on Goossen to reschedule the damn thing and I hope he does not let us down with his usual crappy waiting game after fights.

The weight of Toney also plays a major issue. He has to come in into shape.

Christ and people moan about Haye being mouthy

Would you rather watch him or The remnants of Toney outboxing the most boring HW ever ( Including Ruiz ! )

Oquendo is so dull even Chris Byrd went on the attack against him !

because we all know that Toney is a beast in the gym, working out 25 hours a day. A man truely dedicated to the sport.

Oh.... steroids? No, cant be!! pure old school boxing sklls and methods baby!!!

For crying out loud, how many times does one need to get actually caught cheating before one actually realizes he lost the edge and needs artificial wins, and even then he's way to fat.

I would be very depressed if Fast Fres wins.

Last entertaining Oquendo fight? I reckon the groundhog day that was Oquendo-Etienne, 7 years back.

This fight has boring written all over it. Toney will win and I think actually stop Oquendo late. Toney might get a title shot afterwards and hopefully Oquendo doesn't get anymore tv dates.

You are totally out of line here.

Toney's shape for Rahman was the best since the Booker fight, end of story.

Toney by UD is my guess.

I'm looking forward to it, actually. Should be alright.

I might flip over to this briefly in between rounds of Holt-Hopkins. If James is able to light a fire under his own ass like in round three of the Rahman rematch we might see Fast Fres stopped.

If Toney loses to this guy it's over, no ifs ands or buts.

You gotta be fair to Toney, I know Oquendo is a dull boring fighter but keep in mind he's a last minute replacement, it's not like Toney wanted to fight him in the first place. I'm sure that Toney isn't too happy about this situation either.

As for David Haye, well he actually PICKED Monte Barrett for his last fight, and todays version of Monte Barrett doesn't rank higher than Fres Oquendo in my book.

I tell you what, today's version of Monte Barett is a lot worse than Oquendo. At least Oquendo only lost to big name fighters, Barett's state was so deterioated that he was knocked the fk out by Cliff Couser.

I am tired of those Haye fanatics.
