Why I want to see Toney vs. Haye? Stylewise it's a fantastic fight which should provide us, the fans with one of the best hw fights in a long time. The press conference between those 2 loudmouths promises lots of entertainment, and finally the winner of such a match up would be a very much in line for an immediate title shot. Makes perfect sense to me. If Toney gets past Haye, which I think he does, he stands a very good chance against one of the champions (except for Wlad Klitschko).
Yep, lowblow got it right, Toney-Haye is one of the biggest HW fights to be made right now, it makes sense, the fans want it, Toney wants it, unfortunately Haye doesn't seem to want it... Anyways, this fight is very winnable for Toney, and a win would put him right back in line for another future title-shot. I also agree that Toney has a chance at winning a title, especially the WBA belt against Chagaev (if he should beat Valuev again next year). I don't see him beating Wlad Klitschko tho.
The fight definitely makes sense. I really do not know what the other guy was talking about maybe he rather wants to see Haye-old Mercer or Haye-quitter Rahman or Haye-shot Maskaev.
As opposed to the youthful, slim and not-at-all on the slide Toney? Toney's no quitter of course but he doesn't seem even close to the same fighter he was when he was drubbing Holyfield in 2003.
I think we can all agree if this fight happens and Toney can't KO the Glass Jawed Harrison that James Toney has no power at Heavyweight (which is obvious to everyone right now except his nuthuggers that try to say a guy with 1 stoppage in 9 Heavyweight fights has power)
No toney wouldnt of been delusional enough to fight lewis who would of murderd him atsch inside he gets smotherd and has those massive uppercuts to contend with outside he has the jab the hook etc..... What would toney have to offer with his short arms and powder puff punches, yes his shots may be hurtfull but they dont carry that explosive power of a lennox lewis.
A more even poll would be 'Audley Harrison v an old woman who died years ago'. I'd go with the rotting corpse by 4th round KO.
If JT can rock Hasim then there should be no doubt that JT can KO Audley...especially if he puts in work and breaks him down.
JT has his faculties in tact.....As a great defensive fighter he has taken little damage in the ring. He's speech and his tone cause you to believe he's lost quite a few brain cells.....but to be honest it's just the way he speaks...he always had the same accent and same tone. Plus....Haye wants to make a huge impact he should man up an face toney. Even when Dave looses it will still allow him compete at HW. Loosing to JT isn't a bad thing...He'll just have a **** load of experience he grabbed in defeat.
Nah....saying that is without merrit. Hasim and Holy have both said Toney has pop....of course it's not a "True" HW punch, but he can hurt many HW's especailly one with a chin like Harrison. He shook Rahman and he stated that Toney has deceptive power and Holy was KO'd. So it's actually a bit silly to say that Audley even with a class jaw wouldn't be susceptible to a KO at the hands of Toney. Toney just isn't a HW puncher, but he still has power.
