I like Toney definitely by a comfortable UD or even possible stoppage late.

Toney by late stoppage. James beat the great and slippery Nunn by tko and Mike takes a great shot. Leonard doesn't.

JT also had the great McCallum in trouble late in their 1st

I have aboslutely NO FAITH in Leonard as a fighter.

I think it would be a very boring fight. With Toney not being fooled by leanords "tricks" in the ring. However, depending on where the fight takes place, I see Toney taking a split decision or a draw based on judges bias.

If Toney can get the fast MW Nunn out, I think he'll do the same to natural WW Leonard. His unrelenting pressure would wear Ray down.

Disagree wholeheartedly on Toney ko'ing the guy.

Leonard is not going to fall for the shoulder roll of Toney and leave himself open for counters. And he's smart enough to turn this into a footwork fight and turn Toney in there. And make Toney use those legs and his footowrk to do anything. Leoneard would peck away and throw in ocassional flurries the judges love & he won't fall apart and get tagged like Nunn did. This will look like the Nunn bout except Toney never lands the big one and loses a lopsided decision.

This will more look like Jones-Toney than Toney-Nunn. It will be much, much closer but I still like Leonards footspeed and footwork over the the shoulder-roll and counter-punching of "Lights-out".

not comfortable for sure. see the jones fight and toney was drained at 160.
if the severely drained toney shows as in the tiberi , johnson fights leonard just may win another close decision over him. if a relatively in shape toney comes , toney wins a close decision.

I agree, Leonard would present a lot of stylistic problems for James, Leonard by decision.

In Montreal i recall Duran putting leonard into "Breakdance" mode in the 2nd round with a countering left that impacted 4 of Leonards teeth:D

We have Kevin Howard dropping Ray + La Londe decking him & Hearns sending him to the canvas twice in the 2nd fight & if Tommy had pushed it he would have stopped Ray but Hearns was gassed out & the bell saved Leonard:deal

All the young guns would have sorted a MW Leonard out in style hence he avoided them & stuck to the obviously more safer & lucrative senior's tour.

I see leonards speed and movement giving Toney much the same problems he had against Jones and to a lesser extent Nunn. Its a similar match up to Benitez but Toney is bigger/stronger and in my view better. He would start to get to Leonard after the mid rounds and hurt Ray, but I say Ray hanging on for an 8-4 or 7-5 type UD
