In an age of tall, ripped HWs, a short fat HW is not likely to further his career, even it he is James Toney. I really liked him as an alltimer cruiserweight, but at heavy, he didnt stand a real chance.
Toney fought a great fight. Masterful defence , counter punches , and great chin when needed. He clearly beat Peter that first time about 8-4
nah man he couldnt handle rach or peter when they boxed at range, he doenst have the power to hurt them and doesnt have the reach or mobility to pose any real threat.
have to agree, brilliant fight but i've never heard robbery cried for jirov. the one scorecard was ridiculous but that was a top 5 toney performance and jirov was on fire to; lights out was just better
I dont remember how i scored it, but I do know I had Toney winning. I was at that fight and after while waiting for the scores, you could just feel that Peter was going to get it and when he did... the chants of "BULL****" could be heard all through out the staples center
i had it 6-6 i think. trying to remember if a point was knocked off or something. anyway 6 rds all for me. :good
that's understandable. it was a close fight. i remember all the hoopla at the time about it. remember getting the fight from a trader. it was a draw god dammit. :yep
