The only thing about Solis that should worry Toney is his power, style wise this should be an easy fight for Toney. Of course this means that Toney has to display the same display of reflexes as he did against Peter I. If he can't revive those skills at the lower weight, he should quit.

I disagree, besides body movement Toney's technique relies on a full range of small tricks. As Toney's style, unlike Roy Jones', is not speed dependent, I think that he has a couple of fights left.

Solis power should not be a big threat, first Solis is not a monstrous punches amd second James has a granit chin.

Toney by easy decision. Tarver is a different story.

Dude, are you serious? Solis a low skill level??? Solis is Olympic Gold Medalist and 3 times World Amateur Champ!!! Toney=ZIP...:nono

Solis is very fast even for being overweight at 270lbs! Tell me, why do you hate Cubans? It has to be hate because anyone can see Solis' skills and accomplishments but not you huh? I wonder why...

Solis may have fought " nobodies as you say " but he has also fought all opponents with winning resumes ( look them up ), and Monte Barret is a pretty good fighter ( who almost beat Haye and Haye sweat like cracy to beat him ) and Solis demolished Barrett with so much ease in 2 rounds!!!

His style taylor made for Toney? :rofl Let me tell you this, I really wish Solis fights this Toney guy as I want my Cuban revenge! Toney defeated Ramon Garbey back in the days when Garbey was drinking and partying around like crazy. I want Toney to experience what is like to fight an Olympic Cuban star, who even being overweight will teach him not to mess with the Cubans! You have to be crazy to think that a 44 year old fat guy will defeat a 29 year old Olympic Gold medalist and 3 times World Amateur Champ!

For your info, Solis defeated David Haye, and Olympic Legend Felix Savon twice! Are those real accomplishments to you???

Please, don't even mention Arreola in the same sentence with Solis! What did Arreola did in the amateurs???????

    NOTHING, CASE CLOSED.

No way in the World Toney can handle an Olympic Gold medalist and 3 times World Amateur Champ like Solis! That's a " ridiculous " opinion!!!

Solis no power right? Really? Then ask Monte Barrett how did that " Monstrous " left hook from Solis felt!!! :rofl

Solis has above average power my friend...

I just hope that Solis will get in good physical shape soon...:huh

Solis is probably the most " underrated " HV at the moment just for being overweight...

Toney is 4-time Professional (major) world Champion and current IBA heavyweight champ.

Solis is guy, who had success in amateurs, just like Audley Harrison for example.

In profesional ranks Solis has proven nothing.

True, but the problem is Toney did not look good against anyone lately (just do not mention Rahman), not only Oquendo. And he is not getting any younger anyway, so with style relying on speed I do not think he can still achieve something (although Tarver or Solis are still winnable fights for him).

Agreed - his remarkable achievements as an amateur don't necessarly translate into a successful pro career. Toney has probably forgotten more about boxing than Solis will ever learn. But then again, Toney is 41 and it might get diffficult for him to outsmart a tank like Solis....
Let's wait and see how it plays out, the winner of such a match up should bypass Austin move into pole position to fight Klitschko.

Amateurs and Pros are a completely different story. Solis has no names in his record. Monte Barett has been shot for the last 8 years or so and was never a serious contender anyway.

Take for instance, Garbey. He was a Top amateur but never had the same success in the Pros. Solis style is taylor made for James Toney.

Why not mention Rahman.Toney took him to school and made him quit.HE also did look at 217 pounds against Greek.

Solis has never fought anybody. Just like Kevin Johnson.

toney looked like **** vs rahman for the first round or two until rahman started bleeding and claiming obstructed view. thereafter, toney looked decent for a half round (or round, it's been a while) before the fight stopped. again this was at a time when rahman was claiming he could barely see out of one eye. rahman too has looked **** in most of his fights in the past 3 years. hardly a great performance.

You must be a Rahmman fan.

You have no idea how Toney fights. There were some defensive moves and combintations we haven't seen from lightsout in years. Toney was a much harder target to find than in his previous fights.
