anyone with a half decent punch can succeed in mma

Couture would be a bad matchup for Toney. Randy just closes the distance fast, gets James in a greco-roman clinch and mauls him badly along the fence. When Randy senses Toney fatiguing he lifts him up and drops him on his head. The ground and pounding Toney would endure would be tough to watch.

The UFC is going to make millions from this.

And this is also why the UFC is ahead of boxing when it comes to publicity. People don't want to just see a KO, they want to see a GnP beatdown and a KO of the kind you'd see on the UFC.

  7. Toney is mad. Truly.

Although by the rational of UFC standards, Toney should be right to fight the champ at the end of the year.

He would do well only against strikers, anybody with a mediocre ground game attack will submit him, no problem...

way i see it, toney..or any boxer coming to mma, has to be 100% focussed and execute a perfect gameplan even to compete..im a huge fan of toney, but i cant see how he can keep the explosive shoot of lesnar, or even couture off with his hands...i do agree that toney with his timing and experience can put any mma fighter to sleep with those little 4oz gloves..but can he stand upand keep his range long enough to do so....hell, id give a prime tyson a 1 in 10 chance of ko'ing lesnar under mma rules before he ended up on his back....its a mountain for toney to climb, but i hope he has a little success....**** all this bad for mma/ufc ****...it will create huge crossover interest and huge revenue which wil enable the whole franchise to grow yet further...

there is a very interesting article in this month uk boxing news, dana is interviewed and admits to being a huge boxing fan, but criticises, rightly, the average world title card.....lets be honest, evven in an average ufc card, you will be guaranteed excitement, well matched fighters and action.....in 90% of the bouts...and there will be a lot of bouts......boxing stopped even trying to emu;late this a looong time ago...

I can't believe he is actually doing this!!! He really could have just trained his ass off, gotten into good shape and had a round robin of fights with Jones and Hopkins and the 3 of them could have made a shitload of money to retire on. What the **** man! Jesus, he deserves everything he is gonna get now, he really made a mistake by doing this:patsch

Calling himself the Heavyweight Champion of the World :patsch

The fact that he is calling out Lesnar REALLY makes me think he has absolutely no idea what he's getting himself into. Has he been training MMA?

God, please let this fight happen.

I wouldn't mind seeing Toney get flattened. They would have to get a spatula get Toney of the canvas!
