Well RJJ was moving up to SMW, and Toney was the champ there... also, Toney had a couple good wins that year knocking out Littles in 4 and dominating Charles Williams for 11 rounds before knocking him out. Two brutal knockouts! I remember that fight with Williams, that fight was nowhere close, it was a master counterpunching-exhibition by Toney second only to his showings against Barkley and Jirov.
Even though Toney was suffering from the effects of difficulty making the weight, he was taken to school by Jones in the fight. Jones shut him out. It is one of the wins that makes Jones a legend in my eyes. He fights on because he loves the sport, and expect Tito to be KO'ed inside 10 when they fight.
