James Toney will be fight this December against an opponent to be named. While Thompson is also in the mix, no fnal agreement has been reached to this date.

Like always, I expect Toney to take on a tough opponent which will eventually lead him to a title shot. Thompson is a credible opponent as he just fought the number 1 guy in the division and gave an OK performance. Without a doubt Thompson is a lower top 10 heavyweight.

Rahman could be a possiblity but I doubt he will fight Toney again after losing the last fight. That young guy Aurolea, Johny Ruiz, Lakovitch are all credible opponents.

Toney would do a number on the very much green arreola, you don't step in the ring with someone who's had over 80 professional fights while still green especially someone of james toneys class

exactly, and Toney was also considered as a possible opponent for Haye but Haye wanted no part of him...

Because Toney is still far too dangerous, this fight would be much too risky for Haye and he knows it. Hayes style is taylor-made for Toney. Haye wants to play it safe.

I don't know about this. Toney isn't getting any younger and Arreola is big, young, and aggresive. If Toney can cosistently pull the trigger than he couters Arreola all night. If he doesn''t than Arreola would outwork him. Peter beat Toney convincingly the second time and that was a few years ago. Arreola is a similar fighter so I think he'd give Toney a lot of problems. I'd lean toward Toney but it all depends on what he has left.

I can't recall many though fighters that Toney has fought, i only remember Tony for the RJJ fight.
Altho my boxing knowledge isn't up there, i find it weird that some boxers are heavily criticised for fighting some opponents and other boxers are applauded, when imo the standard looks to be about the same (i know i'm going off track here).
Won't name names, but lets face it some fighters can't do no right on here.

I must say a credit to Toney for having so many fights (thats proper old school having 80+ fights) and good luck to him, whoever he fights.

Toney /Thompson would be interesting. Thompson is very awkward with good defense and a ok chin, I think he might cause some problems for toney.

I say its a 50-50 fight based on Toneys lack of training. If Toney is serious and trains hard and comes to the fight in shape, then I would give the edge to Toney
