That would be very shocking if Toney won by ko. Toney I don't think has stopped anyone since Holyfield.

I hope James is telling the truth RE his weight, I still think he could have achieved more at HW had he had the focus. Good luck to him imo

Toney's punching power is underrated. I mean he's not a big puncher at HW, like he was at MW and SMW, but he isn't as featherfisted as some people here think. True, he hasn't knocked out someone since Holyfield, but he knocked down Ruiz and shook up Guinn and Peter. It's all a matter of timing, if Toney can get his timing back he will land good, clean accurate punches that will hurt, and if he lands enough of them he can knock out Rahman.
And Rahman has got a shaky chin too, Toney can crack that.

At cruiserweight and below he hits pretty hard but his last eight fights he's only stopped one guy. Holyfield.

I read somewhere that he was 240lbs and working out two months ago - if that's true, chances are good that he's already under 230lbs now, one month before the fight. He may make 220lbs.
Seems like Toney is finally getting serious about preparing for his fights.

Well, Peter does continuously say that Toney is the best fighter he's ever fought. But I think Toney is completely shot at this point.

Toney's going to be in shape is he ?..........lets hope that shape isn't round .
I don't reckon Toney will get under 235 , I wouldn't be surprised to see his heaviest ever .

Rahman(who like Toney is also kind of shot) by stoppage .

Ahhh.... Wait a second, did you watch the fight? toney stepped on Ruiz's foot, that's not the best case for Toney's punching power. If anything, try to sell the fact that Knocking Holyfield down is an incredible feat. Don't use the Ruiz KD as an example, because it had nothing to do with his fists.

If I remember correctly, Ruiz was on the canvas two times in that fight.
One was a push that was unjustly ruled a knockdown, that's the one you're referring to.
The other one was a clear knockdown from a punch that was unjustly ruled a slip.
In the end, Toney knocked Ruiz down once and got credited with one knockdown.

I guess you saw the fight through biased eyes, nothing wrong with that we all do it from time-to-time. I for one was completley objective, like both fighters equally.

One knockdown, clearly Toney stepping on Ruiz's foot as he was going backward, casuing him to loose his balance.

the other knockdown, nothing but sheer bullying from Toney, not even close.

Doubt that Toney actually made the "statement" which is too gramatically correct and too introspective (and honest) to imagine it came from Toney directly. Probably his handlers issued the statement and are simply hopeful that Toney is in good shape.
