Why are people acting like a 116-112 score and a close fight are mutually exclusive? :huh

That's almost as close as a fight can get without being a draw. The only possibly closer score without knockdowns or fouls is 115-113.

It gets much wider than 116-112.

How exactly is 116-112 inappropriate for a close fight, with a lot of close rounds? :huh If you scored the rounds differently and had a final tally for Johnson, fine - but don't moan about 116-112 being inappropriate for a close contest with some close to even rounds (and which many people scored a 114-114 draw). It isn't.

Hard punches ONLY count if they affect the guy they are hitting. If the guy is still throwing a boatload more light punches than the "hard puncher", that kinda tells you all those hard punches aren't hard at all.

You probably think Johnson lost every fight of his career. You already know you have a sick hard on for Johnson because he beat your boy toy RJJ.

I do understand, and realize that, but whenever I hear "Unanimous Decision" in my mind and opinion. It usually means that your opponent was dominated thoroughly in the fight. Again I'm not calling robbery because this fight could have gone either way depending on what you were looking for. Both Cloud and Johnson fought a great fight and I thought a draw was in order, but Cloud got the nod. Onto the next one.... Alexander you're up next.

We'll have to agree to disagree here about scoring.

All of those aspects are important in boxing, but only in the context of landing punches. If a guy lands 8/100 and another guy lands 5/10 with amazing defense and ring generalship, I'd still score for the guy who lands 8 (assuming their punches were equally effective). It's about who inflicts more offense in a round by whatever means.

 

Zero chance Kotelnik wins this...I just want to see how good Alexander looks in victory
