Tonight Fight - Have there been similar endings in the Past?

I'm almost positive there have been similar (but not identical) endings, but can't think of any names off the top of my head.

People have definitely been knocked out when they were in the midst of gratuitous displays of sportsmanship or contrition. Even more common is the scenario where one fighter does something stupid like drops his hands in a show of bravado or turns his back to his opponent, and gets knocked out.

 

one similar I could probably think of is Jack Dempsey vs Jack Sharkey and I think the same rule should apply protect yourself at all times

 

First rule of boxing, protect yourself at ALL times.

Floyd Patterson Johannsan. Not sure which fight, but J dropped floyd, I think floyd gets up, starts walking to the corner like the round is over, it aint, and floyd gets smashed again.

Floyd was right. **** Ortiz for intentionally headbutting Floyd, causing Cortez to separate them, and then going in for a hug for some unknown reason. He made a very stupid decision and paid for it. The whole situation is his fault.
