His utter lack of defense disappointed me.

Boxing D don't work against Grapplers, it proved to be an open invitation.

"Come hit me! Drop me! Dump me!" Back to the drawing board he goes, Cigano has to evolve if he ever wants that Title back.

if you think he showed anything like traditional boxing defense in that cage than you are a bigger moron than the thread starter. it wasnt like he was doing good defense but than getting taken out by double legs or something..the dudes defense sucked just regarding good old fashioned punches coming from a wrestler.

You can have a functional guard and still sprawl. Block, parry, circle out, move your head, do something; the man just walked straight back into the cage with his hands low and ate blatant bombs.

QFT. Everyone read this post three times and leave the thread, this is all you need to know. If you don't believe it, feel free to go try it yourself. You'll respect both sports more once you have.

    See below.

I call it a mix of nerves, I was implying that JDS has been too reliant on throwing hands, give Cain Velasquez over a minute in there and you could see why. I've sat down and watched this fight since my original post, but the two men looked like Lion and Tiger in there. Brown Pride was relentless, coming off the floor several times before landing that long right hand, I could see the fear in JDS eyes a minute or two before this.

edit- don't know why I bother when Rob is quoted before me, pages back, this is what happens when you don't read through a thread.
