Cotto vs Margarito- Lots of arguing from both sides. Lots of experts with different opinions. The last HBO PPV was very good and the fight was debated.

This is a PPV with a 24/7 and lots of buzz and may be one of HBO's most exciting PPV's in recent memory. Its also a great crossroads bout and will tell us a lot about whats been on our minds

Helenius vs Chisora- Chisora has a tough chin and is a wild man in the ring. Helenius has been on the washed up former champ circuit for his last few fights. Now he has a young lion who is trying to be a bully. This fight will tell us a lot about Helenius but it is also a big fight for Chisora.

Chisora in his last outing was out of shape and lost to Fury. He has a lot to prove after the poor showing.

Povetkin vs Boswell- Povetkin defends his "title" for the first time. I think they picked Boswell as an easy win and to look good after struggling with Chagaev.

Boswell for years has been winning fights but never got his chance at the bigs. He is in his 40's and getting his one and probably only shot. He is tough but I dont know if he is on Povetkins level. This fight will tells us plenty about both fighters.

Mike Jones vs Lujan- Jones in an eliminator and putting himself in position for his first world title. He is in vs Lujan a tough veteran of the sport who also is on a winning streak. Only fight I ever saw of his was vs Margarito where he got in some good shots and was difficult but eventually Margarito over powered him. Will Lujans yrs and effort pay off or will jones finally step up and achieve what so many believe he will achieve

Rios vs Murray- This fight about a week ago was an easy pick most said Rios and early. But after the weigh in its not so black and white anymore. Rios didnt make weight and put the fight in jeopardy. He lost his title on the scale and was said to look drained.

A fight that nobody really cared about suddenly becomes more interesting. How will Rios be mentally after losing his belt. How drained is he. Or does none of this matter and Rios wins regardless. Also does Murray see that this is win win and that he is an underdog possibly undeserving and now fighting for the vacant belt against a drained guy.

    Predictions

Margarito in the 10th or later

Helenius by around the 9th or 10th

    Povetkin in 12

    Jones in 12

    Murray after the 9th

Interesting that you went for Murray, is that based on how Rios looked yesterday?

I can't pick out of Cotto and Marg, too many variables, I lean towards it looking exactly the same as the first fight. (The added weight being a key factor in how much damage Margo does.)

Great day of fights. No matter if Margo wins again though, people will still say he used loaded wraps in the first one, the issue will never settle. I'm picking Tony by stoppage late.

yes, i think Rios may be drained and also this mentally may distract him. He lost his title he had a tough time losing weight and he didnt lose the weight

plus team Murray said dont come in over 147 or the fights off

so Rios will have weight on his mind today rather than just the fight

and to the bolded i agree so many factors going in but i do feel it probably goes the same

Good point, I'm quite curious as well to see where they both are and what they have left, especially Margarito.

So you think if Margarito wins tonight is because he didn't used loaded wraps? Or for the same token, if Cotto wins tonight is because Margarito was using loaded wraps on their first fight? :verysad

The outcome of the fight tonight won't change the little evidence that Margarito was using loaded wraps in the first Cotto fight.

No, that's not what I said. I'm just saying the controversy will never go away no matter what happens tonight, that's all. I doubt many would change their mind if they believe he did in the first fight, even if he wins again.

yeah I suppose Margarito has plenty left he looked in great form going into the Pac fight but just got ripped apart

He had a long lay off to heal and relax and looks to be in great form again

Cotto looked bad vs Mayorga but a Margarito fight is way different

A win by either Margo or Cotto wouldn't answer anything. Both guys are extremely worn down from what used to be their primes when they first met up in the ring. Point being, at their very best Margo bested Miguel Cotto and we'll never know whether or not he used tainted wraps whatever the outcome is tonight.

Cotto couldn't hurt Margarito in the first fight. That was the difference. Not whether there was plaster in his wraps. Cotto threw everything he had, with no result, and then gassed. Unless Shane and Pac permanently dented Margarito's chin, the same thing will happen tonight.

So, you think Cotto couldn't back up Margarito with his punches because Margarito's chin and jawline were also plastered?

Not sure about Cotto, but Margarito isn't worn down. Against Pac, his punch resistance was there, as was his stamina, and the little speed he did possess throughout his career.

I think Cotto wins a decision this time, surviving a few scary spots in the last 4 rounds.

I'm not totally convinced by Helenius but I think he stops Chisora in 8. To have a chance, Chisora will need to be very active to take avantage of the fact Helenius only fights in spots.

Povetkin wins handily, probably by wide decision.

I think Jones wins a clear decision but Lujan makes him struggle a little.

Rios destroys Murray. I don't think the weight will adversely effect Rios too much. They meet in centre-ring and although Murray will land shots while he's in there, it'll be one-sided. Rios within 5.
