Tonight showed why Floyd shouldn't set foot in the ring with Canelo...

@Hands of Iron,i agree Canelo is levels about Chavez Jr in skills,but Chavez Jr has a greater chin,more heart,stamina,strength and punching power.If a fight was made at 160 i think Chavez Jr would tko him between 8-11 rounds.

 

It would be risky for Floyd and he may have some early trouble like people suggested, but from what I saw Floyd, if he can weather the storm early, should cruise to an easy victory. First of all Canelo gets gassed, easily!! He is also easily frustrated and his adjustment is to throw harder punches. Secondly, Canelo does not like it to the body. I think Trout hurt him with a body shot in the 5th or 6th round and Canelo basically ran, if Trout had put pressure on him he could have done some damage perhaps.

At the end of the day, I thought the fight was even and I'd even lean toward Trout as the victor. I thought Trout fought his way back into round 7 where he got dropped and that he won at least 4 of the next five rounds minimum. The judges scores were ridiculous, as has been the trend over the last few years, especially in Texas. Canelo is a good young fighter, but nothing about him says "Boxing Icon" or future superstar IMO.
