And Beterbiev shouldn't be fighting in that division. He was moved up there for some reason (I'm not sure why).

 

I'd back Beterbiev against Ward, but I don't think Ward is an easy fight for anybody near his weight. Ward is a really awkward sob to fight.

 

Beterbiev is very strong, powerful, he feels very comfortable when his opponent is trying to clinch him, he’s bigger than Ward. Unless Ward headbutts and lowblows Artur, Beterbiev will win. Beterbiev is a monster.

 

To beat Betebiev you have to keep him off you and fight 36 minutes of perfections.

He won't be KO'd unless you have enormous fire power and he has a GREAT chin - proven tonight.

He can fight compact so he won't get hit that clean (look at how many punches OG threw compared to how many landed)

The body attack did not slow AB down either.

He is just too physically strong and you would have to fight perfectly with 100% concentration to beat him. That's virtually impossible.

 

I also think Artur breaks Ward down over the stretch, but, let's be realistic, its not going to be a demolition job. You're right in saying that Beterbiev's physical strength is going to be a huge problem for a clincher like Ward. Ward's usual potshot and tangle game will work early on - which is why I said it won't be that easy for Artur, because I think Ward is crafty enough to land and hug succesfully, but in the long run trying to wrestle with a beast like Beterbiev is a doomed strategy. If Ward tries to fight from the outside he's got a mercy in that Beterbiev's jab isn't anything like Kovalev's lance of a jab, but, Ward will be exposing himself to Artur's power punching. Ward seems a bit faster to me than AB, but, the question is how much time does that buy him? I'm guessing less than Gvodzyk.

 

Boxing isn’t about who hits the hardest. And I don’t know who hits harder between Gyvozdyk and Ward. Apparently you do. I know who fights smarter. Ward has more in his bag than Gyvozdyk. As far as award Beterbiev, I favor Beterbiev but I wouldn’t bet on that fight.
