this is really an insult to HARD CORE boxing fans.... nobody else is watching these types of fights... only the hard core boxing fan base cares about these kinds of fights.... and if they ... IF WE continue to allow scores like this and allow it to be acceptable it just will continue to show how STUPID we as boxing fans are and how dictative the powers that be are

we cannot continue to allow fights like this to take this route.... regardless of how you feel culturally, your favorite fighter preference, your location, your nationality.... we need to route whats right in boxing and let our voices be heard however we possibly can against whats wrong....

no doubt we are only joe shmoes who happen to post on a forum... but let our voices be heard on the internet, on youtube, on twitter, on facebook, on espn chat blogs and even if you feel as much as emailing golden boy or something

because as long as we continue to allow dumb decisions like this... all boxing is at this point is high level wrestling

tonight what we witnessed was boxings version of the WWF

Not to mention the inept/corrupt Laurence Cole being assigned ref. duty for 2 of the 3 fights, including the main event.:patsch:patsch:patsch

it was close, but the 118-110 score was just silly, i doubt he was even watching the fight, more like cashing his cheques in after oscar had a word.

Do you feel Diaz won? I guess my question is, are you outraged by the result, or the discrepancy in the scores?

I always enjoy your posts, Walk with me. They have substance and come from the heart.

Paulie gets a lot of flack, but I just watched him outbox a world class fighter, and then he had the balls to say all of that in front of a hostile crowd in Houston. That guy has my respect.

the ref made a mistake.. thats fine.... he obviously didnt have anything to do with the outcome because pauli m clearly won teh fight

    the judges robbed him

it was close but pauli m clearly won...and im a big diaz fan.... but you gotta thinka bout this in perspective

this is these guys lives were dealing with.... they work hard to make weight, give up all their time, put their lives in danger... only to be dicked because they dont fufill some type of financial gain?

    its really a joke

im not a fan off the wwf or wcw

    im a fan of boxing
no i think pauli m clearly won... close but clearly.... i think this is just embarassing to the sport.... if the outcomes are predetermined why should i even watch?
    i appreciate that

This has become a recurring issue in boxing recently. I am not a Malinaggi fan but I have to acknowledge that he got jobbed tonight. Also, did anyone notice the ridiculous bias of the HBO crew in their favortism of Robert Guerrero?

This is going to sound strange, but bear with me. I had the opportunity to watch the Andre Ward-Edison Miranda fight from Ringside. I could literally touch the ring during the fight. I've personally scored hundreds of fights watching them on television over the past decade. Watching the Ward-Miranda fight from ringside, I had the fight a shutout to Ward. Keep in mind, the fight was fought in Oakland, Ward's hometown. I flew back home and watched the fight on television the next day. I scored the fight 9-3 Ward after watching it on television. I guess my point is, you have no idea how difficult it is to judge a fight from that close. It's almost impossible. After that experience, I would argue that the judges scores aren't that far off from what they think they really see. I just truly think they are ill positioned to judge a fight. It's laughable really. When the action is across the ring from where you're sitting, you can't even tell what the hell is going on. And these judges are expected to score punches landing, power shots, defense, etc. Trust me, no chance. Has anyone here seen a fight from literally a foot from the ring, and do you agree/disagree?

i hope you guys are as disgusted with the outcome of this fight as i am..... i am truly ashamed & turned off by this... i mean basically golden boy spit on us as fans by doing this becuas they woudl rather worry about their own pockets then be honest with the actual out come....

i hope you guys as boxing fans can see the truth

robert guerro fought excellent tonight... i wanted him to lose because he looked liek a big ***** against that asian guy but he came out really focused and put on a tremendous show tonight... they crew was on point

i have been to some boxing matches and have done the same thing.... but i mean.... everyone seemed to have it right except the people who counted... teh actual judges

max bob lennox & harold all seemed to agree on the scoer card but i do see your point

On the list of things that have shamed and embarrassed me this year in boxing, this doesn't even crack the top three. Maybe not even top five if I thought hard about it.

Just out of curiosity, what are the top five, in your mind? I have some thoughts as well.
