I admit, I have a bias because I'm proud he's a British Asian lad and winning. Now that's out the way, I've read and agreed with many of the pre-fight criticisms, I honestly have; but reading the posts from during the fight it's just ridiculous.

    Nothing written rounds 1-4
Rounds 5-6 - Khan's in trouble etc etc
Round 7 - Khan hit the guy while he was down

I didn't want to start ANOTHER Khan thread but all you haters are doing it so I think this is needed. I mean, come on! Look at yourselves, how over the top is this ****? Be a little open minded, people were so excited to see him looking tired that they stopped watching to come and post on this messageboard how he was about to lose... wtf is that all about?

Fair enough, criticise him, but it's just got a bit silly tonight.

The huge thread complaining about what he and the commentators said afterwards - since when did anyone ever take that stuff (about any fighter) completely seriously?

I like to see hype trains de-railed.

Khan isn't all bad, I just wish he'd remove his head from his rectum.

    The Audley Harrison effect.

Headline a fightcard against fighters you are vastly superior too.
Add Hype, Hype and more Hype.
Act overly arrogant after beating these fighters and claim you will be the youngest champion ever.

This is only going to create animosity as it is ripping off boxing fans.

Fair enough, a lot are the same, but you shuldn't let it cloud your enjoyment of the boxing itself. Same way I love seeing the big 4 in the premier league get beat, but it wouldn't mean I couldn't appreciate what their players can do.

I even just read a post copmlaining the bell was a few seconds late for one round... seriously, where does this stuff come from?!

a lot of people take what the commentators say seriously, and it is annoying to hardcore boxing fans. itv is the only non-subscription channel which shows big fights so the casual fan will believe most of what barry and jim and co tell them. i know this from experience of colleagues at work insisting that khan is the best boxer in the world.

khan was never going to get much in the way of positive posts about this fight because the matchmaking has been pretty much universally derided.

as for the thread about khan hitting when the dane was down...thats just one person being an arse.

I just see it as something that is a fact of life in every sport, big or small. I can't believe that the hype around him has had anymore of an impact than it has for me, and that's not very much.

I won't argue about the quality of opposition, but this moaning is far far more annoying/greater than the level of positive hype I get from the casual fans - who tbh don't ever mention it to me apart from texts they send to me when he fights!

It wouldn't be any fun if we had threads titled "Khan was ok, wasn't he?" Yeah, we go overboard a bit here, but it's all part of the fun.

How about "Khan does a reasonable job against a top 15 opponent"??

Bunch of cocks you lot are

The man is right. You are all quick to point out the negatives, but aren't so forthcoming with ANY positives

You lot are no better than that **** Jim Rosenthal and McGuigan who acts like he's been bunged by Khan's media manager. They overhype, you are too far the other way

Top 15 or Top 25 or whatever. The point I was trying to make was that Khan did OK against a half decent opponent but we have all this crap about him being DQ'd, the round being too long, how arrogant he is, how biased ITV are. I'm not a particulary a Khan fan but it has got ridiculous....Its like people are watching the fight, waiting by their keyboards hoping to find something/ anything negative to type.
