Ward vs anyone at suPer middle is a tactical nightmare....then again so was joe...hard to call but I give ward the slightest of edges because of his defensive prowess. While joe pulled of comfy wins vs Hopkins and rjj he was dropped like a sack of old potatoes by two guys that have seen better days. Awesome match up

Ward in a good close fight. Certainly not in a cakewalk like tonight against Dawson. Unlike Dawson, Joe was very mentally strong.

Andre Ward will win by split-decision.

What do you think would be Calzaghe's greatest strength that Ward would have trouble neutralizing?

His heart and ability. Joe wouldn't get discouraged and quit like Dawson did , he finds a way to win. Even if he's getting outboxed he can turn it up and pull out a win, even if it looks ugly. He's got the mentality / heart of a great fighter.

Ward is a good fighter but I'm not particularly impressed by anything he does. He's just solid and skillful all around, and certainly would be a difficult fight for Calzaghe. But I think there's a gap in talent and overall quality between those two.

Awkwardness and insane workrate. Aswell as punches of the kind Ward has never been up against before. Which is why the fight would likely be very close. But all around, Ward is just a little bit better as it stands, IMO.

Been saying it for aaaaages - Ward is better than Calzaghe and, when allowed to come near or reach his prime, he'd beat any version of him.

    • The Ward who beat Kessler would give Calzaghe a lot of problems.
    • The Ward who beat Froch would probably beat Calzaghe.
    • The Ward who just destroyed Dawson would definitely do Calzaghe.
The man just gets better and better with every fight, and the scary thought is, he's still 2 or so years away from reaching his highest potential. His game is the type that'll see him into his mid 30s easily.

Sure thing. I don't have a problem with being wrong. But we'll never know will we.

Almost any version of Ward would beat Calzaghe or any other ATG SMW imo of course.
