Right lads, I've just got back from the fight. I haven't bought it on Sky so hoping you guys can confirm a few things for me ? Difficult to judge from a distance.

Cook v Martinez - Cook seemed to really rock him in the second. I thought he touched down, did he ? To be fair Cook did well to get up from both knockdowns.

Maccarinelli v Ofolabi - Enzo looked a bit one dimensional tonight maybe he's not truly world class I dunno. I don't think he ever had Ofolabi in trouble and it was a great shot to end it all

    Khan v Barrera

Was it the same cut that he suffered in his last fight that opened up ? Have to say though Khan looked class and Barrera really couldn't find anything to discourage him. I know everyone will say Barrera is shot but I was really impressed. Roach the miracle worker again.

Overall a great atmosphere and I'd say about 50/50 support for each fighter. It was great to see Barrera over here and in future I'll be pleased to say I saw him fight.

Lastly how many ****ing people cannot understand seat numbers. So much aggro and some scraps coz people can't understand this basic seat allocation system

You can't beat a night at the boxing.

    Cheers

tyson fury....from the other card tonight...
i think he's never going to make british title material...he's got size and thats it as far as i can see....mc guigan says he's great, but fook me, i just cant see it at all

and...enzo could have easily won tonight...he fought the wrong fight, punched himself out...dopey enzo cal only made a bad tatical situation worse by slapping him and sending him out fighting every round...he could have easily paced himself for an easy points win.

Anyone see when Fury went for a big uppercut that missed Swaby and hit himself in the face?

ITV even showed it in slow-mo!

    Was well funny.

I think you're wrong about Fury. The guy isn't anywhere near as good as he thinks he is, however he does have great size, very fast hands for a heavyweight and a good workrate(which is important for a heavyweight).

At just 20 he has so much time to develop and with the right trainer I don't see any reason he won't do that.

I certainly think he could go on to surpass the level of recent British title holder Scott Gammer(who's better than his talent amounted to). Don't forget someone like Michael Holden has held the British title within the last 10 years or so and considering Fury's age there is bound to be a lull in quality of British Heavyweights during some part of his career where he'd get a chance against a weakish fighter such as Mark Krence.
I certainly think he could get better than John McDermott aswell.

For me Fury actually has quite a bit of potential, he has far too much of a mouth though and is pretty raw........he badly needs a good trainer to develop him correctly and get him to take advantage of his size and show him how to punch correctly(as many point out he does arm punch)

I can see him going onto European level if he's brought on correctly.

I'm not surprised about Maccarinelli getting banjoed, I've been called all sorts of things on here for labelling him a glass-chinned jounreyman...very overrated. I have also mainained Haye is very overhyped partly down to his win over Macca.

MABs cut was different from the one he got in his last fight.

the funny moments of teh fights

tyson fury uppercutted his own head in his fight

Adnan Amar couldnt fight becuase he slipped in the bathroom and KTFO of himself

maccranellis legs going mental and him trying to hold onto the ropes like he was dancing

maccranellis eyelid when he got hit with the KO punch

Afolabi leaning back on the ropes and nearly falling out of the ring

Nicky Cook getting his opponents badge stuck to his head and not realising

Well, I was app. 30 meters from the ring, but I really felt Macca was weak for 90 sec befor the Ko... He started to back down and I swear I felt the disaster coming!

I didn't heard Calzaghe Sr. advices during the fight, but it looked that Macca had the wrong tactics against a fighter who was very difficult to box... He tried to bully and clinch a lot without great effect. Most of the time, he was nailed in the clinch by solid right uppercut from Afolabi.

Afolabi had a tendency to turn his body to his right when he was on defence... where were the left hooks/uppercuts of the Welshman? The only way to beat a guy like Afolabi is a quick solid jab and a early body work... Macca never did that. He just tried to rush the guy.

Poor strategy for a devastating loss...

Dunno it was near the end though maybe the 5th when Swaby was on the ropes it was hilarious. He always says he would beat nayone didnt think he owuld beat himself though

My dad said right at the start of taht round that he thought he looked weak and was going down. it was a bad punch but his legs had gone before that in the 3rd but he seemed to recover well then BANG and hes gone.

Macca had bad tactics he got to involved and punched himself out, a rematch would be real intresting
