Tonight's Vegas card - updates?

In Round 2 Sosa lands cleaner and more often.
Right hands especially found their target.

Sosa counterpunched effectively in this round.

Trejo basically beaten to the punch.
Still game, though, and busy.

Round 3 - Sosa

 

I also score it 3-0 for Sosa, although it's likely all three judges don't see it that way.

Trejo actually looks a little bulked up to me. The hand and footspeed with the jab have been decisive early.

 

Good flurry to end Round 4. Sosa simply is sharper.

Trejo needs to make an adjustment.

Round 4 - Sosa picks up momentum.
His punches are crisper and sharper.
His timing is precise.
Sosa repeatedly nails Trejo with combinations, uppercuts, counters.

Trejo missing wildly is beginning to look a little dispirited.

Sosa definitely took over that round.

Round 5 begins.

 

Round 5 - The action heats up.
Trejo managed to land a bit more, but also got tagged more than in previous rounds.
Sosa simply outclassing Trejo w/ superior technique.
Sosa's movement has befuddled Trejo since the opening bell.

Repeatedly, Trejo struggles to get close, and when he does get in, he gets beaten to the punch.

Sosa 5-0.

 

Round 6- more of the same...Sosa clearly boxing circles over Trejo.
There's a major class difference here.

It's clear that the only way Trejo could hope to win this bout is by TKO/KO which is unlikely due to Trejo's lack of firepower.

Round 6 - Sosa

 

Sosa 6-0. He has all the answers in this fight.

The only shots Trejo throws with any danger with them, Sosa blocks easily with his gloves.

 

Sosa 7-0.

The combination Sosa landed in the middle of the round makes me think he might be able to the stoppage.

I wonder if he'll press the issue in the last few rounds.

 

Round 7 - Sosa boxing beautifully from the outside.
Working a consistent jab off of Trejo's face.
Landing an occasional bodyshot.

They trade leather at the end of the round.
Sosa getting the better of it.

Round 8 - Sosa outboxing, outpointing - almost battering Trejo.
Trejo seems to be beaten to the punch at every turn.

A bodyshot fired by Sosa momentarily froze Trejo.

They engaged in a spirited exchange toward the end of the round.

Trejo seems to be cut above both eyes.

Sosa 8-0. The skill level isn't close.

Trejo is now becoming desperate, lunging and winging hooks from long-range. He is wide open for counters.

Sosa can make it happen if he goes for it.

 

Fight stopped.
