'87 version of Hagler vs the rising phenom named baby bull. I say Hagler was toothless (no offense to SRL fans) can Hagler pull out one last miracle? Did Sugar Ray Leonard just happen tp have his number i always go fro the rising star and dare say Tony mightve even rendered a helpless Hagler unconscious by round seven
We have been well in need of another Ayala vs an ATG thread, it has been a while!!! I am not sure that anyone from 154-168, could deal with skill, power and stamina of Terrible Tony! Especially not a faded Hagler....if he sees round 5 he would be fortunate in my humble opinion!!!!! Tony destroys Marvin easily!
Indeed! Especially if they have a vagina and a stylistic weakness against knives! :deal Old Hagler barely got past a guy (Mugabi) glass-jawed light middleweight fraud Terry Norris trounced in one!
Hmm...:think Ray could elude this much slower version of Hagler. Hagler wouldn't need to look for Tony though. I, too, tend to think that this version of Hagler was too old and tired to keep pace with Tony the fresh young bruiser. Hagler fights nobly to the finish, but comes up short in a points loss.
Hagler against a fighter moving up in weight? A limited brawler? Hagler kinda feasted on them type, bro.I dare say that Hagler would **** him - and would do so without the aid of a knife,I might add.
Hagler by tko in 5..and this fight would lack the competitiveness of Hagler-Sibson...Ayala would get his ass handed to him.
Ayala would be in over his head in this fight. Hagler may have been fading in "87 but he still had too many skills for tony to deal with, not to mention experience. Whatever punches that ayala landed would not have a big effect on the steel chinned hagler. This, along with haglers steady, progressive two fisted attack and pressure would take the heart out of him. Hagler would wind things up by about the ninth round, with ayala bloodied and helpless as the ref would intervened. Ayala was a sick ******* who had a thing for raping women but this time it would be him who would be the **** victim.
thanks for reading closely and for being honest. people forget I watched Hagler in sparring two weeks before facing Leonard and that I already posted the picture Hagler's lack of mobility and porous defense would be the death of him in this one I just dont think Marv would be able to endure no more
Hagler was rusty and not sharp at all for Leonard in 1987, but he still had his punching power and chin and I think Tony Ayala's style might have given him a little trouble in rounds 1-3, but Marvin would come on and stop Ayala in 5. The difference is Marvin was world class, and Tony even with his good power was not in the same level of Marvin as a fighter. Marvin would have loved this kind of fight since Ayala would have been right in front of him.
