We have seen it so often, a young fighter knocking out weak opporsition left right and centre, and begins to belive his own publicity, its a recipe for disaster, and Duran was the man to serve it up. Ayala, for a young fighter did have attributes, strengh and hitting power, and did score a good 3rd round ko win over Carlos Harrera, who pushed Maurice hope the full 15 rounds in a title challange, But Tony fought so many opponents who were intimidated before the first bell, now this is not Duran is it

I cant help but feel Roberto would treat this like Pulling the Wings off a Fly, i understand that Ayala had shown great disrespect to Robert when their paths had crossed earlier, Roberto would not forget this..

I think this would be similar to the Davey Moore Fight, Robertos Inside Savvy and Space Perception completly wrong-footing the predictable Tony, If Tony starts to throw his normally Terminatory big Shots, Roberto not only Rides them, but Counters Tony, then Mocks his Feeble Effort, what would that do to Tony's Immature Mindset ? Could be he would Implode like Tyson against Holyfield and commit some horrible foul in frustration ?

If the fight proceeded without illegal incident i would simply expect Roberto to Draw Tony's youthful sting Early, Correct him with Conters, Perhaps making Tony feel that he is one big effort from making Roberto Crack, But Roberto would probably be playing Savage Possum !

Once Tony starts to Huff and Puff, and has realised that Roberto has been feeding him that mirage of Victory, he knows that that impeceptable smile playing around the lips of Roberto was not his imagination.. it Dawns on him, as he looks into those cold black Eyes...Bottomless pits of menevolent Fistic Evil ...That Sneer that Says welcome to Hades...Come on Down.... Tony knows he is now going to make the acquintance of a real ring bad Man.

Petulant Boy against Ruthless Man ..the writing was on the wall all along
    - one just had to look on the walls of anywhere but San Antone !

Tony has this Rep in some quarters as a Lt Middle ring Destroyer, was he really any better than Messrs Hilton Moore Drayton or Acquino ? Not to mention Beast Mugabi or The Hawk Jackson ! ?

In 1983 only "Hearns and Duran" were the real stand-out 154 pounders / champions of note.............. These dudes like: "Moore, Kalule, Ayala, Buter Drayton, James Green, Clint Jackson, Sean Mannion, David Braxton, John Mugabi, Fred Hutchings & Mark Medal" were either shot, rookies or unproven and not yet ready for prime-time game shows in '83.......... Cheers.......

Duran is too slick in close and would be able to consistently hit Ayala to both the body and head. Duran had a amazing chin and would need it here. There would be ebb and flow and both men would get their pounds of flesh in this one. But Duran would have been very motivated for such a dangerous foe like Ayala. He would need to be to win that's for sure.

    Duran TKO 8 Ayala

Duran would have boxed Ayalas ears off and dissect him worse than what he did to Davey Moore.

You got it in one:good It's hilarious for anyone to even think that ayala had a chance:lol: only that old gobshite Lou Duva would & his quote about Duran/Leonard/Hearns/Hagler all quaking in their boots about having to face Ayala:rofl

Welcome too the real world of pain, mental & physical Tony:yep If ever someone was made for Duran it was ayala, jeezus, you can see it know, the slow sadistic dismemberment & duran just loving every minute of it & especially around the 5th when ayala realises that he's a dead man walking, he'd crack, he'd never been anywhere like this before & having one of the most violent sadistic animal's of a man in the ring just sneering & grinning at him would **** him up, like all bullies, there's always a bigger one & they don't come any bigger/badder/nastier that the "High priest of Violence"

Ayala would be smashed to bits by 7 rounds, he ai'nt the skills/savvy to last any longer & especially when he's facing someone who's sole intent is to maim him in good style & who just so happens to be a great boxer while he's at it:p

Ayala would never fight again after being butchered by Duran & when ayala was interviewed after leaving prison he said if he'd fought duran he'd have to KO him in 4 or he'd lose, he knew the truth:deal

Anyone here who thinks ayala would beat Duran obviously ai'nt been around that long or worse;)
