Clev is only 23 years old. He is young - youthful.

He thinks he is a glamour boy.

He grew up training down in Newbridge in the shadow of Glamour Boy World Champions - Joe Calzaghe and Enzo Maccarinelli.

Clev thinks he too is a fellow welsh pretty boy World Champion in waiting just like them.

This guy - comes into the ring - still - with a bandana wrapped around his head for ****s sake - like he is out partying in Ibiza or something amongst the 18-23 years old. That bandanna in itself is a indication of his vanity & ego & pride & youthfullness.

Clevs ego and confidence is boosted even further when he goes to Uni and bags himself a smart attractive blonde missus. So now he not only wears a bandana like a cool dude - he got the eye candy on his arm too.

Its all about vanity and ego and image with Clev.

People use to ass kiss Enzo Maccarinelli - tell him he was the best - tell him he was a pretty boy - tell him he was the World No 1 - then he got found out by Haye.

People are now ass kissing Clev - time will tell if he believes the hype - but he is already it seems - the lad loves himself.

    Good constructive post:yep

I was shocked also & he seemed so leaden, what jab he did employ had absolutlely no snap to it, just a pawing flick, He's really got to learn to ram the ****er out & it would'nt do him any harm to study some Tommy Hearns tapes as to how to employ it seeing too me that Tony has a similar poise of a young Hearns. By tucking his chin down lower & as you point out by just dipping his knees he can affect more power with better aliegned balance which brings it's own momentum & that paves the way for the hook to body & head & we saw absolutley zero of that. It's no good just having one bullet in the chamber (Right hand) when you're in a shoot out.

I was alarmed at his conditioning, he's got to get IMO super fit, it's of no use just being able to prowl around for 12 rounds he's got to be able to turn up the gas when required late on, now whether his frame can allow that at the weight is another issue, as i said he appeared totaly leaden to me from the 1st ring a ding & without an effective jab he's going to struggle & get more than a bit frustrated which as we saw last night could get him caught far more times than is nessesary.

I'am a big fan of the feller, he's a breath of fresh air but like all young men he's in a hurry, but he's nothing to prove to anyone, plenty of time to get the structure in place (witth the right guidence) too compliment his natural attributes. But IMO his got to be more active & definetley ramp up his ballistic stamia as that may well turn out to be his savior.

i haven't read every single post in this thread but does anyone think bellew should not bother staying at lhw? i'm not saying the boiling down had anything to do with his performance last night, but as he steps up in class and is matched with world class fighters who are strong and comfortable in this weightclass, I think he could struggle.

plus he looks gaunt as **** and generally unhealthy at that weight and could be more prone to getting cut.

Cometh the hour cometh the man ( or something like that)

I think this will be a blessing for Tony, Tony has been well stabled over his years and at 27 its now his time, the kid will be asking questions of himself today. I hope he does fight on the 23rd ( im going ) and im sure it will a little wake up call for Big T what happend last night which aint that bad a thing, Stephen

Glad to see not everyone is writing Tony off. There is a tendency to say 'he was always ****' after one bad performance. He may be in his late 20's but still has time to implement changes.

I know Tony said he wasn't going up to his normal fighting weight as he was was thinking about his next fight. Looking too far ahead can be a problem in this game.

Like i have said all along....power over-rated, no real dynamic speed and way way over-rated. This is not the end of Bellew but the making of the guy, he just needs to realise he is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is....., farnell is the best trainer he could have right now, so get back in the gym and listen to Arnie because no one is more dedicated to his fighters than him.

ontheup, if Bellew is that bad, what changes are you suggesting he make to improve?

I think Tony needs to be mire patient, throw less punches, and make the jab his main weapon. He's big for the weight, if he thinks he can make it safely still, then I'd suggest he watch some Bob Foster.

Wait for the oppurtunities and the knockouts will come. Throw predictable shots out of frustration because you think all you need to do is land and you'll get figured out and outhustled down the stretch.

That was Bob Ajisafe, who might go on to prove an adequate fighter, but not a fighter a supposed destroyer shouldve had much problems with.

I really think this will teach Bellew a lot, we always complain our prospects get it too easy, well Bellew made it hard for himself IMO. His approach was just too sloppy, he will know that and will tighten it up IMO :good

Hello everyone, I'll get straight to the point, I did't box a very good fight last night in fact I boxed a nightmare of a fight and to be honest that's not just down to me!! Bob Ajisafe is a very awkward customer and I have a lot of respect for the guy, he come with a game plan to frustrate me and it worked so full credit to him.

I on the other side let myself and trainer down a bit by not listening and going for the ko too much!! I will learn from this that's for sure, Like I said I have never come across a more awkward man. I could never land more than 1 meaningful shot at a time....

It's 1 thing watching tapes and another thing performing against a guy like that. Unless you nail the guy early he'll cause a lot of problems for almost anyone..Everyone is gonna have an opinion on me as I have a lot to say BUT that will not change, I will continue to be myself and it is a must that I take some positives and learn from this. I did 12 rounds,Got up from a flash knockdown and after it all I am STILL Commenwealth Champion. I know where I went wrong and I'll try my best to put it right on 23rd October in Liverpool.

I'd like to say thanks for all the comments, Good, bad and the other ones too, I hope this brings guys out to fight me now cos I will face anyone in Britian. I'd finally like to say well done to Bob Ajisafe. He's a nice kid and I have the upmost respect for him I really do, I wish him well in the future..

I'd also like to say the moaning was done out of great frustration, He kept bending below my waist and it was nearly impossible to nail him, Once again great tactics by him.. The lad reallly does deserve credit and he's another who is avoided!! Who needs a 6ft 2 awkward Ingle southpaw..Full credit to him:good

Once again thanks for support.. :good

he needs to put some muscle on his body(no world champ looks like he isnt cut like a stone) develop his jab and get out of head that he is not and i mean not a wrecking ball puncher, imo he does not have the tools and i have said that from the beginning.
