Tony, I thought you fought very well to a game plan and avoided any clean shots.

However Can I ask why you actually had a game plan last night, but didn't seem to have one when you fought Bob Ajisafe.
Against Bob Ajisafe your plan consisted of 'I'm gonna knock him out with one punch', and when that didnt happen, there was no plan B.

cleverley does have a cast-iron jaw from what ive seen so far and for all his defensive faults he IS a warrior. he can put punches together well at close range. doesnt have any real core power. nothing that will send tony down and keep him there unless he walks into one maybe.

bellew has great heart and a good strong set of legs. also a warrior, he sometimes looks a little eager and messy but of the two i think has shown more discipline. powerful puncher but does he have the power and accuracy to send clev to sleep? if not how difficult will it be to outpoint him? :think

Obviously being from Liverpool I want Tony to win but I just hope he respects cleverleys strengths as well as focusing on his weaknesses. i hope he doesnt go in there with the idea that he will knock cleverley out. he should think of how to outbox him and if the opportunity comes then so will the knockout... but what do I know? Im just a keyboard cowboy =(

I have to agree I was one of the few that actually thought that Bellew learned from the first fight.

Agreed ! .... Bellew actually boxed very well and he showed he does have a boxing brain on his shoulders.... this will give Clev something extra to think about come there anticipated match up ....

Personally i think Clev still a warm favourite but these are the fights we want...

Tony mate, don't listen to the haters. I haven't seen anyone say you won all bar 1 round!

Anyone with half a brain will understand why you didn't and wouldn't want to go toe to toe with Mckenzie again. unfortunately the ****tards of this world can't see that.

Although your a bluenose keep the flag flying mate, your one of my favourite domestic fighters. :happy

Bellews performance was very poor. That isn't boxing, that is very light sparring.

"not loading up" is not impressive nor is it what anyone asks for. We ask for boxers to throw hard punches which can end a fight. We want to see well placed punches that can end a fight.

I'm not happy with any boxer that isn't explosive. Being explosive isn't only for the Mayweathers of this world.

Bellew simply wasn't looking for openings where he could touch McKenzie hard.

After that fight and Burns vs Cook I was very disappointed. Thankfully the card was stacked and when fights fail to live up to the hype, one of them will shine and credit to Murray and Mitchell.

Bellew got this fight using his gob, doesnt matter if he is boring or not he's just be all scouserish at the press conference and hype it up.

Cleverley will batter him. This shouldnt be PPV.

Fair dos, mate. At the end of the day you're the one getting punched in the face by him, not me. I can understand why you fought that way but i think in terms of building interest in a fight with Clev you were too negative. McKenzie always fades after halfway and you probably could have stepped on the gas at that point and impressed more.

Against certain opponents, you dont get the luxury of making a conscious decision to entertain, implementing what your trying to do is hard enough.

Ask yourself this, could there by any truth to the notion, Bellew was so dominant, and McKenzie so ineffective, BECAUSE Bellew made it the kind of fight it was, cause that is the fight he needed to fight to shut McKenzie down, to take away the only chance he had of winning, which was landing a big right hand?

Bellew could of stepped it up a bit, but he did what he had to do.

You would probably criticize him equally as much if he Boxed McKenzie's head off for 10 rounds, and then got KTFO in the 11th, so....

All Toney Bellew needed to do was win the fight, everyone knows what Tony Bellew is about.

He's a violent man, and brings violence.

But it was imperative that he won the other night, and he made 100% sure of that. Tony Bellew went down the path of least resistance, because he had the ability to, and this was the safe way to win.

He doesn't have the boxing ability or athleticism to fight Nathan Cleverly that way, and he knows this.

I think Tony was a bit overly cautious as he didn't want to see his world title fight with Cleverly go tits up. Like football, it's more about the result than the performance sometimes and you know he is going to bring it when he fights Nathan.
