Tony not there tonight early on he had his eye on that Liverpool show. And now he is stuck in a rut now.
I'd love to know what Tony said to him: "For ****'s sake, bugger off. I didn't bother to put the video on for Jools Holland. I really wanted to see Grinderman."
I'm not sure "learning" as much to do with it really. I just don't think he's quite good enough ; got stiff and unflexible shoulders that mean he'll never have a great jab or smooth boxing skills and his power looks well overrated.
I remember watching Clev on a undercard in the U.S. Think it might of been Lockett's fight with Pavlik. Well Clev was downright awful, just brawling, got the job done but far from impressive. Ever since the lads come on leaps and bounds. I hope Bellew can learn from this. For a lad that studies the sport he is showing no sign of the brain he shows on here. Just straight bombing...disappointing but he knows he's not fighting well.
11 rounds and Bellew hasn't found his range or timing. He is missing alot. His work is predictable. He hasn't worked the body at all. He hasn't adjusted any of his work i.e. he should be shooting the right hand at the chest so when he ducks he ducks into the punch. He keeps leading with the right, he should lead with something else to set the right up. When he threw the hook/right he hurt Bob. Good learning fight for Bellew though.
"Not in a million years" for a KO of Clev isn't coming off too lightly...though deserved if tonight is all you had seen of him.
