spot on. people say Clev wont deal with pressure fighters or Big punchers. McIntosh and Oakey may be limtied but they can bang and apply pressure.

Clev has no defence and always overshooting or falling out of position. Clevs technical abiltiy is VERY low. He does well with his talent but technically he has ALOT of improving to do.

clev isn't quite there yet, but it is clear his power is developing nicely, he was switching attack from body to head quite nicely too. He will need to improve head movement himself as he moves up in class, and measure his shots a bit more.
Having said this, i think bellew wouldn't be embarresed against clev right now, but it is a bit too soon, simply because he could do with getting a few more pro rounds under his belt. But give bomber a chance to win british, and be on euro/world fringes, which he is more than capable of, and then stick them in.

didnt think he mixed the body as good as he normally does. it tended to get abit wild with his shots at times aswell

Bull****, Cleverly is decent technically. Technical skill is not just about defence coming forward, its part of many aspects. His transition between defence to offense needs work for sure, he can be reckless once he lets his guard down to throw punches.

But his actual punching form, the variety of his punching to head and body, his footwork are all very good. He's learnt the basics of the game fairly well but needs some improvements like virtually every fighter. That is what technical skill is all about, learning the basics.

His physical ability is very good, he's pretty fast and seems to have a good engine.

I would tend to agree pretty much with this. The thing with clev, is that he will still be learing bits and bobs, such as the head movement i mentioned.
however he beats every other lhw in britain, and is not far off world class. But the guy is still learning his trade and look at where he is, i think it speaks volumes about his potential on the world scene.
I have been impressed over the last year too, with regard to his power, which seems to be developing nicely, and will help him become a player.
pascal and them boys can wait, but it aint that far off, and if he will be good enough, he will have to be moved towards that level soon

The Italian was there to be hit and my last time of counting Clev hit him with over 25 clean big power right hands.. I don't think he was his usual self and got caught an awful lot.. Clev has fast hands BUT he's no puncher!! The Italian has been flattened clean by Brahmer so he ain't rock chinned!! I'd love to fight Brancilion next and guarentee he fights me the way he fought Clev I'll stretch him inside 3 rounds!! His chin was in the air, He was looking away when throwing jabs and was constantly going back in straight lines!! He's a disaster waiting to happen..

Clev should be kept away from serious punchers in the division cos if he fights a puncher and get's caught like he was off Brancilion then he'll end up getting beat.. He does deserve respect though cos he's only 23 and he's British,Commenwealth & European Champion!! For that alone he's done great I feel so big respect to him..:good

I think in about 5 fights, it would be the right time for you to fight him tony. I think he maybe has better power than you suggest, but i think you are right in the fact that his chin was there that night, and a puncher such as yourself would have given him far more problems.
I think you are right about going back in straight lines, and he needs head movement, and better footwork, as when he lunged in a couple of times, if he had have been cuaght right, he would have got taken off his feet. However, he did pick his punches well, and his finish was good too.
So there is a lot to like, and a bit to be worked on, but my point would be that if he is euro champ with the tools he has right now, any improvement would only help him on the world scene.
Would like to see a dust up between you two, but just don't see it happening for another couple of yerars, simply because of where both your resepctive careers are at, and who your promoter is

What Clev does right, he does very well, but he hasn't really been tested, I suppose all fighters get hit though and when he wasn't searching for the big shots before he didn't get hit all that much, its all about adapting and he has shown he can outpoint and KO opponents. But true in the fact he needs to stay away from big punches for now but it will all come in time!!!

I don't know the in's and out's but Clev still isn't boxing full time, his studies are impacting on his training time.

We should see real progression when he finishes May/June time.
