Think about the range of flux in weight here. Think about how much boxers lose in 24 hours, and add back on after weigh-ins. Most people can fluctuate up or down well over 2 pounds in a day. It's not inconceivable that it was inadvertent gain in between his claim of 6 and the check-weight showing up as 8.
