I think the Coldwell/Hearn co-operation is great and I think for boxings sake the top promoters should be working together to put on good shows. This is a minority sport now, and watching guys like Cleverly beat up never been stopped Lithuanians isn't going to cut it for much longer.

The future of boxing is promoters who are committed for the long term and understand that milking the hardcore fans for all their worth only works whilst there is a hardcore left. Where is the next generation of fans going to come from? Boxnation is a good example. If you box behind close doors on a subscription channel, how are you going to build a fanbase? You can only appeal to guys who already love boxing enough to pay £10 a month.

I think Coldwell is a breath of fresh air, and I just hope that Eddie Hearn is as supportive of him if he builds a serious stable of fighters. It's better that two promoters share a big pot than one keeps a little pot all to himself.

He has been doing the promoting side of the game for a while now and he wants to step up from the small hall shows, as evidenced by this ambitious bid for the Bellew fight. He's well respected within the trade, has built a strong stable and has served his time for close to ten years in the promoting side of the game. What's exactly wrong with him bidding for this fight?

Why? Both fighters will get paid at least, and it'll be watched by more than 17 people.

    Yeah too right!!!

What boxing needs, is a cartel of 2 or 3 promoters who can promote every show and keep all the money and belts in house.

What good would a new face do? We don't want progress or fresh ideas!

Damn Dave Coldwell. What a disgrace.

The fact is Bellew is a disloyal twat, Ffrannnk gave him a title shot in his home town, what more does the ungrateful twat want from his manager and besides the twat is under contract so he's going nowhere :yep

    To be paid?

  7. Where's the loyalty from Frank, getting his man another big fight straight up?

Instead he's left in limbo for several months until this purse bid, and Cleverly fights a nobody.

I bet in Fwank's office right now, The Genius and Split Decision are sitting at their desks trawling through Boxrec to find WBO rated Africans that have never been stopped, and using their lunch break to defend Frank on ESB.

Good on Bellew, he will get far more exposure with another promoter and fighting on Sky.
