see now Tony talking like that is ridiculous. He "did what Wlad couldnt". Any respect he has gained is going fast. He admits he knew about the injury and then goes to talk like it never existed. contradictory to the point you cant take what he says seriously at all.

Not sure of this has been raised, but in terms of standards the fight was really poor. It was dramatic and interesting yes.....but the level of quality was low.
Haye is well past it, very slow and bad timing. Bellew is Bellew, boxed fairly disciplined but his technique is average at best.

Agree, Haye pre injury was embarrassing.

Would be happy to never see or hear tony Bellew or Haye in or around a boxing ring again. Tonys high horse holier than thou family guy act is vomit inducing bull****

Rematch should strictly be made for cruiser weight considering last night was all on Haye's terms.

Bellew is one of those guys everybody knows who have a condition called absolutebullshitatitus. It means he forgets what he says from one person to the next.

I think it suited him Haye being 16 stone mate. Haye's used to hitting fighters with less movement than a fridge freezer. Bellew's too fast for him.

Yep. Well, this was/is a "nothing" fight in the heavyweight division all along. The idea that the winner of this goes on to fight a heavyweight world title fight is a shocking suggestion. It would be a bit disgraceful for Eddie to push for that too, since I'm sure he has Luis Ortiz and Dillian Whyte under his contract and he'd do better to focus on getting them some sort of big HW fight than pretending Bellew is a top man in the division.

Carl Froch's technique was way below average. It doesn't stop everyone loving him.

I'm a Bellew fan and was over the moon with his performance, he was boxing well and surprising even me with how little he was having to withstand. I think this was down to his boxing and not Haye being poor. I always thought he could win late but I thought the first few rounds would be quite torrid for him. His movement, countering and game plan were spot on. This topped off with him taking Haye's power well made him confident enough to throw at the same time as Haye which before the fight people would have said was suicide.

I can't remember exactly what rounds i scored which way but I rememeber thinking I had it similar to Paullie and Froch's cards. I think I had Haye one up going into the 6th round but I felt Haye was getting into a rhythm and looking more comfortable and not gassing one bit whilst Bellew looked like he MAY have been struggling with the extra weight. With this in mind this is why I think the injury played a huge part.

I agree Bellew deserves tremendous credit and none of the reasons you stated why people won't give him credit apply to me but the way it ended just didn't give a proper answer to what was a gripping battle and if he's refusing to acknowledge the injury in his interviews like people on here are saying then I think that's a shame. Don't get me wrong he won fair and square and did exactly what he should have to get the job done but the injury certainly helped no end.

This is a key point that needs to be reiterated. Haye absolutely did NOT gas. He was throwing more punches than Bellew and he never gassed but you have some Haye haters here insisting that he had blown his arse out. On one leg he still looked like he had more energy than Bellew. BELLEW was actually gassing harder because even when he had one-legged Haye pinned on the ropes he had to periodically ease off him and take breathers.

If the injury never worsened in the 6th, Haye probably would have realised that he needed to stop the wild swings and just win on points with the jabs to the body. Bellew would have then come out swinging wildly in typical Bellew fashion (e.g. Cleverly, Flores fights) and Haye would have had a better chance of finding that sweet counterpunch.

Watch Bellow cash out against Parker next in a totally unjustified title shot. The thing is I actually like Bellow but he doesn't belong at heavyweight, he just totally lucked out last night. He should go back down to cruiserweight to defend his title against his mandatory.

Totally agree with this. Won't happen though too much money at heavy weight especially the purses you hear about for Parker v Fury. It sounds like he wants to get out of the sport soon and he's not soft he's going to go the fastest route to make the most money to set himself up for an even better life. Why should he care what us fans think or if the WBC take his Cruiserweight title.

I agree, he should go back down to cruiserweight, no way is he a heavyweight. However, by the sounds of it, he's going to fight one more time and that fight has to be a big payer, potentially a PPV again and he's not going to get that at cruiserweight has those who are not big fans of boxing won't know his opponent.

I'd say a rematch with Haye would be a nice way to sign off or Joseph Parker.

That's a good point, James Toney bust his after his big win over Holyfield and it kept him out for almost a year, if Haye's out of the ring that long Bellew will either:

    1. Have been chinned in a 'real' heavyweight fight.

    2. Dropped back to Cruiser and been chinned by Briedis (think he'll beat Huck)

Either scenario makes a return with Haye worthless.

I'd love to see a rematch but Haye will be out for a year. He's had his Achilles operated on, complete rupture apparently. How the **** he carried on I don't know...must have been agony...

Bellew should fight wilder/parker and win or lose take on Haye next year.

Got to give credit to Bellew, not for beating an injured Haye, but for making the fight competitive before the injury, he didn't look out of his depth like people expected.

I do think Haye was winning the fight and would have won by KO in the end but Bellew did well.
