You're a credit to the sport mate, and nobody can watch the fight and not have the utmost respect for both of you. Obviously you're gutted right now, but look at it as one step towards where you want to get to. A lot of people felt you're only shot was to land a bomb that caught him cold and you showed there was far more to your game than that. The neutrals will now want to see both of you fight again and your name will have earnt respect from any boxing fan that watched the fight. The performance was easily your best so far and against your best opponent so far which is a massive plus as it shows you step up to the level of comp. You will get your shot again and be a better fighter for this experience. Good luck.:good
Tony, your attitude as much your obvious skills is what will take you to the top IMO. It's so refreshing to see a fighter lose their '0' and react in such a positive manner; especially considering the loss was so contentious. Can't wait for you to bring more big World Title fights back to Liverpool in the future!
Chin up Tony!!!!!!! Keep fighting regularly and focus on the boxing not the brawling and you can go a long, long way :good Parris is a ****
Thanks for giving us a great, entertaining fight Tony. Your both a credit to the effort you put in and how hard you trained really showed. I hope you get a rematch because I do think that you made him look very average at times last night. ****in good fight mate.
Credit to the sport. I went into the fight expecting (but not wanting) a clear Cleverly UD. Scored it a draw in the end. Great fight and you clearly showed you're more than just a puncher. That jab was beaut! You'll have won yourself a lot of fans last night (not that you need any more with that lot in the crowd! Unbelievable atmosphere!)
Well done Tony it was a great fight and you acquitted yourself really well. I have no doubt you will come back from it and best of luck for the future
Fair play Tony, cracking fight. You've made a serious amount of fans last night, boxed brilliantly and good luck in the rest of your career, i for one will be following it. Well done
I liked both Tony and Nathan going into the fight but after last night I now favour you Tony, you definitely proved yourself and showed what a top quality boxer you are, from what I saw I actually think you are a better boxer than what Nathan is,only he had the better engine last night,Tony you are a fantastic ambassador for your city and a truly inspirational role model to young people in boxing like myself, you have a lot to proud of,you might have lost the war but you are going to win the battle in my opinion, weldone mate. PS - I was talking to Anthony Fitzgerald and he could not have spoken any higher about you, when he told me he was sparring with you I was actually jealous of him!
I had Tony winning. 7-5 I think, but when you stopped jabbing at long-range you let Clev back into the fight. There was a lot to be proud of there though. Great fight.
congratulations on a classy show of classic boxing tony, stand tall and be proud as we all are of you,,, ,,there will be plenty more chances and can honestly say that you did your boys and family proud. :good:good
Ill admit I didnt like you in the build up to the fight but honestly you made a fan out of me last night bud. You gave it your all and I had you winning up until the 10th where Clev came on a bit strong (those body shots took their toll) and knicked the last 2 to make it even. Should have been scored a Draw for me personally but thats boxing for you, Hope you come back strong and see you in the ring soon mate will be rooting for ya ( is it true your aiming for a fight with Eduard Gutknecht? )
complete credit to Tony for last night. Fought and conducted himself like a man. The reason so many of us love this sport is because of fights like that one last night and characters like Tony. You'll come back stronger fella.
Apart from when you're fighting obviously mate! Can't really add much that hasn't been said tbh but Tony put on an excellent performance and imo deserved the decision. Both guys last night were a credit to British Boxing and restored a lot of my faith in certain aspects of the sport (before that **** Parris snatched them all away again) I'd pay good, good money to see a rematch and would love to be there in person Hats off to both Tony and Cleverly, handled themselves very well in the aftermath too, once again a credit to the sport! Thank you Tone!
Fantastic performance last night Tony. Just one question...what the **** did you do to Dave Parris??!!! :fire
