i have to hand it to Bellew....i have tried and tried my best but i still cant quite be a total bell end like he is...he is a World Class whopper... Cleverly nailed him early regarding his physique and it really hit a nerve ...there is no way anyone who trains like he says he does and loses 40 lb can turn up flabby
Don't understand his pop at the sports psychologist, the man clearly said at the start "based on his media persona" Bellew then like an idiot went and proved the man right. He tries to play the calm and peaceful act but it only lasts so long before the true character comes out, hope Cleverley sparks him out.
just got a glimpse of that stork trying to headbutt stevenson at the weigh in again. even managed to be more low class than the pimp he was fighting. backing clev to win but to me theres big doubts if kovalev has perhaps ruined cleverly be it mentally and/or physically
What I found particularly interesting is that Bellew picked Hopkins to beat Kovalev, stating he's just a puncher and Hopkins has the better skill set. I don't think it dawned on him that he was pretty much describing him and Cleverley.
What Bellew will do: Talk about being respectful post fight, despite showing no respect or class in his post fight talk with Chilemba in which he told him his own trainer said he lost. Very honorable. Tell people he never said he had "this massive power" after screaming in his last fight "I carry power" .. (technically this is true because he left out the word massive, but in the spirit of things, it's another lie) Tell everyone "when I land on you, you go to sleep" then step up in class, find out people aren't so easy to knock out, then act like the whole bomber thing was just a nickname from when he was a kid... ahem... Threaten to kill an opponent at the press conference, then spend 6 rounds doing an impression of a new born gazelle running backwards with gloves on... and lose a lot of people a lot of money who wisely had bet on him being KO'd in the first 3 rounds, but unwisely didn't factor in the level of bull**** contained within Bellew's prefight speech. Admittedly this might be harsh on new born gazelles, who are very quick learners. Question the credibility of a trained psycho analyst, call him fat, shout at anyone who agrees with his analysis... while making the point that he never gets angry. And... breathe.... Look up and to the side when he's finished making a point, like he's just bestowed upon the world a level of insight for which we should all be grateful. Offer pearls of wisdom in an incomprehensible `wtf-did-he-just-say` format... such as "there is no pressure unlike the job of raising a family.. I'll tell you that" ....I assume he means the exact opposite, not that every pressure is just like raising a family. Trying to get your toast to pop at the same time your eggs are done? Just like raising a family.... all pressures are the same as that... (it's ok Tony we know what you meant) Tell people "the eyes don't lie" even though they already know it's his mouth that's the culprit. What Bellew won't do: Anything he says he will do.
"I speak the truth"......"I speak the truth". Yes Bellend you speak tg truth that much you always need to say it twice to convince yourself.
One of the most unpleasant characters I've ever come across. The sort of person you wouldn't be the slightest bit surprised if they find him hanging in a few years.
I quite like them both. I hope Cleverly spuds Bellew, but Bellew comes back in later fights and wins a world title. I like his jibber-jabber.
