I get the Joshua response, as they're mates, from the same stable etc etc.

But it's an Interesting response about Wilder, by a man who 'knows boxing'.

He's bigger than Povetkin, and fought as a SHW in the amateurs.

You'd think the guy would back himself to at least give Wilder problems wouldn't you? Considering he's spent his 'whole life studying boxing'.

Translation - "They punch too hard".

He said openly after the second Haye fight they had too much power. He also said after feeling Wilder's arm he knew he was too much.

Bellew is not a heavyweight and he doesn't want to fight heavyweights, he wants Ward or Usyk.

Also Bellew is way smaller than Povetkin.

But said he wouldn't mind fight fury, who he thinks doesn't hit hard.

    Bellew is taller than Povetkin.

His frame at Heavyweight would be identical to Povetkin's.

Joshua doesn't want to fight Wilder either, so are you really surprised a chubby Cruiserweight doesn't want to?

He doesn't compared to the other 2.

Fury does damage through his ability to land more punches because of his unique style, rather than through individual punch power.

Povetkin would wreck Bellew. I would not like Bellew vs Mike Perez.

Callum Smith is also as tall, should he fight Joshua and Wilder too?

Bellew is a Light Heavyweight turned Cruiserweight (and wasn't even a big Cruiserweight), and he only went up to Heavyweight because he spotted an opportunity.

Not sure where he has said that, or where his career path suggests it is the case.

Bellew is not a light heavyweight.

Bellew's natural weight is at Heavyweight.

Explain why his amateur weight was at SHW?

With the greatest of respect, he didn't get the 'fat kid from Liverpool' tag from being a LHW.

At that weight he looked ill, like a skeleton in all honesty.....
I'll say it again, he's naturally a HW.

It's starting to look like Bellew is using weight divisions to avoid either's biggest threat. If he goes back down to CW I want to see him take on the likes of Uysk, yet he talks about dragging Ward out of retirement and up a division. If he stays at HW he should not swerve 'too big' Wilder but challenge the even bigger Fury (only while he's ring rusty). And yet Tony seems to get a free pass over his cherry picking.

To be fair, he's getting a free pass for 'cherry picking' because he's admitting it.

With regards to Fury he said he believes if they fought in the next 12 months he'd win, but he'd lost to the Fury who fought Klitschko.

I don't mind his honesty. Quite refreshing tbh.

I think his honesty is how he's getting away with it. It's a clever trick because it bucks the trend of excuse-making and we focus on that rather than the facts. But cherry picking is cherry picking.

    1. Drags Cleverly up to CW for the rematch
    2. Leaves CW with Usyk, Briedis and Gassiev likely opponents (he would have known about the WBSS)
    3. Fights a faded Haye
    4. Fights a shot and injured Haye
    5. Avoids Wilder
    6. Calls out Fury (but with a time stamp on the fight)
    7. Calls out retired LHW Ward to fight at CW

It's not a great look when you strip it back to the bare bones....
