Round 3 Bellew sticks the jab and chases Miranda back with a quick right hand. Double jab by Bellew. Miranda ducks a right, but rises up into a stiff jab to the chin as Bellew was waiting for him to come up for air. Miranda tries to jab his way in but Bellew checks him with a 1-2 to the body. Very sharp stuff from Bellew on the outside. Now a 1-2 to the face!! Miranda is knocked into the ropes but waves his glove to the crowd to show he's OK. Bellew is walked back to the ropes and leans against them, leaning and springing forward. He manages to tackle-drive Miranda the full length of the ring into the opposite ropes. 10-9 Bellew 29-28 Bellew
Round 4 Miranda is leaping in with left hooks, but Bellew has him in his sights and keeps him quelled with the jab. Miranda tries a different tack, driving right hands in to the body while ducking low and moving in like a submarine with his neck arched for a periscope view. Bellew holds steady with the jab, not letting Miranda too near. Bellew lingers by the ropes and Miranda catches him with a right hand, but it's one of his precious few power connects this round. Bellew is scoring the jab whenever he wants. OH BIG COMBO BY BELLEW!! JAB, JAB, CHOPPING RIGHT, HOOK!! Miranda wobbles!! Saved by the bell! 10-9 Bellew 39-37 Bellew
Bellew has a lot of that twitchy/nervous movements like Jermain Taylor. It may cost him down the line. :think
Round 5 Miranda is winging overhand rights at Bellew from outside, and ghosting jabs to the face from a few paces away. Miranda is willingly eating double jabs and missing at a ridiculous rate, but forcing Bellew into constant retreat. Not much quality either way this round. Bellew isn't countering where he ought to be, not taking risks. Miranda is wildly inaccurate. 10-9 Miranda, though I hate to reward ineffective aggression. 48-47 Bellew
Round 6 Miranda comes slapping in with high hooks, caught on the right elbow as Bellew thrusts it out for interference. Bellew is using movement, quicker feet making Miranda lunge after him, even sloppier than before. Just wide hooks. Bellew is cutting it close, however, letting Miranda come dangerously close with the hook by not banking the turn until he's almost at the ropes. Nice counter left hook and chopping right combo by Bellew as Miranda moves in. Bellew getting Miranda's respect with his shots now. Right hand pushes Miranda back. Bellew jabs at him from mid-range. An uppercut feint gets Miranda scrambling away. Bellew catches him with a jab and uppercut leaning back against the ropes. Miranda trying to be slick. Bellew is on the front foot, landing with both hands to head and body as Miranda leans and rolls. 10-9 Bellew 58-56 Bellew
Bellew seems to want to be the counter-puncher the whole time; I'm sure he could let his hands go a bit more. Think he is winning the fight though.
