Tony Bellew vs Isaac Chilemba 2. What can Bellew do different this time???

Like I said, Bellew looked clueless in the later rounds and Chilemba was counter punching with ease. To me, that's outclassing someone, but the only problem is Chilemba didn't do enough work early on. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it wasn't a competitive fight. I only had Chilemba winning by a point, but that was due to his laziness in the first part of the fight as well as the last round. That's why his trainer tried to fire him up. Chilemba isn't the most exciting to watch but Bellew wasn't exactly thrilling either. I honestly do believe Chilemba can stop Bellew. He's not gonna KO him with one shot, but the chances of a stoppage depend on how Bellew fights the second fight. If he fights the same way he gets beaten by a decision, but if he's too aggressive and goes all gung ho then he's gonna get countered to **** and the possibility of his corner throwing in the towel or the ref stopping in are very real. Remember that if Chilemba has any sense this time he'll fight the way he did in the later rounds from the very start. He seemed to be too respectful of Bellew's mythical power but now he knows better.

 

Chilemba's nonlinear movement and leaning angles will make it difficult to put much starch on body shots. Many would slide off him, maybe scoring points but not really achieving the desired effect of sapping his strength and grinding him to a halt to open up head shots.

It would take Bellew throwing lots at the wall in the hopes something might stick - during which time Chilemba could be racking up rounds by significantly outworking him upstairs with the jab as he focuses his efforts down low. It's a gamble, but it might pay off.

Really he needs to keep the pimp hand (jab) strong and not be so easily dissuaded when he's left stirring air with it. Keep jabbing, and jabbing sharply. It's like when a shooter in basketball goes on a cold streak, they are told don't suddenly lob them up with half your heart in it. If you miss, don't pout, keep putting the work in.

It's a neat trick, Chilemba making him miss jabs by the bushel, yet it's probably only within his power to continuously keep up for a third of the scheduled distance at most. Keep chiseling away with it and it will start landing, eventually.

 

Don't see how Bellew does anything different this time out, if Chilemba starts faster im not sure if Bellew wins more than 2 rounds

Bellew fought terrible last time. Throwing many shots although he saw that Chilemba was slipping most of them. He won rounds by aggresion and work rate not because he landed anything. This time he really needs to box smart and not try to rush his work like he did in the early rounds. He was dog tired after 6 rounds..... no wonder you cant win like this.

I would give him some credit if he showed a bit of class after the fight, especially if he loses. Thing is, he thought he was the bollocks last time so I don't see how much he plans to change.

What worries me is that Bellew possibly hasn't got much else to offer other than what we've already seen, and if Chilemba has another level to his game (I believe he has), and really turns it on, then Tony could be in for a very tough fight indeed.

 

As is often the case after the after fight opinion settles i.e commentators,mates,forums,boxing news a fight is seen through eyes that are exaggerated to a point.

So for me Tony was poor after a bright start in a poor fight,because chilemba showed good movement and countered occasionally people have remembered this and it's been played out so often that know chilemba schooled Tony with his superior skills,i think that's bollocks it was an even fight after 12 where I thought Tony would of took because of workrate

He will box the way he did for first 3 rounds and there are some good examples of how he can box differently especially the body shots as chilemba has good head movement and likes countering,I think Tony uses his jab effectively and drives him to the ropes sat on his chest then he should make it ugly and take it out of chilembas favoured fight

Chilemba is the one who can win this to the body. Tony is the slow one with stamina issues here.

In the rematch I can only see Chilemba picking up where he left off, Bellew will be dangerous for the first few but the rest of the fight will look like the end of the last one, i dont think he stops Bellew though

 

Chimbela couldn't knock the skin of a rice pudding, he was landing clean counters in the first fight and they didn't do ****, bellew hasn't got a granite chin but its decent enough, chimbela ain't no banger,I think bellew will take this via close ud, controlled pressure behind the jab work the body, I noticed the few times bellew did land chimbela felt it, but I can't see a bellew ko/tko it will be close again.
