Biosse is standing up to short combos off the jab from Smith and staying in front of him. Uppercuts and 2-3s put in behind the jab as Smith gets the measure of Biosse every time he bounces outside with head lolling from side to side and shoulders rolled up defensively. Biosse puts up some overhand lefts but can't hit paydirt with Smith keeping a lookout and staying tall with his gloves up at the ready to either punch or pick off.

Biosse is getting pushed onto the ropes but fighting his way off with right hooks and high-climbing lefts, arm shooting up steeply, almost vertical from the pit onward. Smith turns his face, wary of the overhand lefts, but keeps working combinations on Biosse, head and body, keeping him trapped on the ropes and corner. Left uppercuts breaking through the guard and jacking the jaw and rights on the body from Smith.

Biosse is doubling his right jab and taking a big stride diagonally back and rightward. Smith reaches and misses with a left jab, misjudging distance as Biosse starts lurching forward but jerks back. Biosse lands a couple of jabs on the chest of Smith, coming in low. Smith jabs over the head and misses, Biosse dropping slightly to his left. Clinch. Biosse is slapping the sides of Smith while held. Big left hands corked upward from a crouch by Biosse, tickling Smith on the sternum and backing him up. Smith is very tentative with his offense here. Smith shows a hook but doesn't commit. Biosse circles right and rows up a few right jabs. Clinch. Biosse is hooking the body with his right, diving and slipping out of the pocket. Smith misses a left hook over his head. Biosse covers up as Smith pushes him onto the ropes. Left uppercuts and straight right hands by Smith, all blocked. Biosse lands a grazing counter jab as Smith reaches and misses with a right uppercut on the body. Clinch.
