When the card was first announced Hearn received tweets by the hundred congratulating him on what people assumed would be "Cleverly vs. Bellew II". Then when realization dawned that it was "Cleverly and Bellew each versus South American randoms" the kudos halted and the silence roared. :yep

2 each, Fielding looks like he is getting on top, Gonzalez actually looks very tired for 4 rounds

    Round 4

Fielding is putting in 1-2s and the exhausted-looking Alcoba is backing onto the ropes, grabbing and clutching at Fielding with both arms. Fielding is tapping Alcoba on the nose with hard right hands but unable to set him up for a finish. Alcoba is shrimping on the ropes and nestling in on Fielding to clinch.

    10-9 Fielding

    39-37 Fielding

    Round 5

Fielding is met center ring by the windmilled right of Alcoba. They clinch and carry to the ropes. Fielding works with his back on them, hooking into Alcoba's head with both hands. Alcoba down!! Up - and they battle in close. Fielding pushes Alcoba into a corner, exchanging flurries. Alcoba starts to fall apart. Ref in.

    TKO5!!

Good work from Fielding, showed some real finishing instinct, took a few shots but a good win.

Who shall the next British super middleweight be to claim the vacant WBA Inter-Continental super middleweight title with a TKO5 over Noe Gonzalez Alcoba? :think

Getting to be annual tradition. :deal

Actually, you know what? Fielding vs. Buglioni would be a fun scrap and not a total mismatch. (though Rocky would be favorite)

I see Bellew as being in a far more dangerous situation that Clevery or Joshua.

Santos isn't anything special, but one of his losses was a close one to a clinching, pain in the ass spoiler whom he still knocked down twice.

The other is a top 20 Cruiser sort, Dmytro Kucher, that just went to a MD with Ilunga Makabu...

Bellew is absolutely terrible at Cruiser. I cannot think of a fighter in the game in a division he's less suitable for.

He went life and death with a shot Brudov... He was stunned, his face looked like hamburger. Brudov was plodding around throwing 20 punches a round and still managed to shake up Bellew.

Santos is pretty medicore but he went the distance with Kucher and can punch. You don't need much more to potentially spark an upset against someone like Bellew.

In result yes, Groves' knockout and indeed his performance was much better though.

Also the odds with Bellew/Santos are far "closer" than the odds for the Skelton or Cleverly fights... 8/1
