massive padded record, but this will propel tony up wbc rankings to 7th, should get stopped whenever tony wants.
Just had a brief look at some of Bolonti's fights on youtube. He's fairly basic & ponderous but he does have heavy hands. I think Tony should be able to outbox this guy & win comfortably, skillwise he's a couple of levels above Bolonti.
Sure buts thats the case with any fight between ranked fighters. Unless it's a final eliminator the eliminator tag is pretty spurious except it looks good on fight posters. The choice of opponent good matchmaking though!
I don't really understand how anyone can have an issue with this fight..especially just two months after fighting Miranda. It's not a great fight but it's acceptable IMO and will boost his world ranking. February is the key fight for Bellew, I hear he's a headlining in Liverpool, hopefully that will be a final eliminator for the WBC against a good opponent.
If you look at the rankings; Champion: Chad Dawson 1. Mikkel Kessler - Moving back to 168 2. Bernard Hopkins - Will only be fighting Cloud/Cleverly 3. Eduard Gutknecht 4. Denis Grachev - Should lose to Bute 5. Lucien Bute - Back to 168 to fight Froch 6. Isaac Chilemba 7. Roberto Bolonti Bellew will be mandatory for Gutknecht after the Braehmer fight for the European, and that could be doubled as an eliminator for Dawson.
Yes, it's hilarious when Team Matchroom have a pop at Frank. However, when Frank dishes it back nobody can accept it.
This isn't a bad fight as chief support to Froch and however many weeks after his last fight. Hopefully he gets in the mix for the European early next year. Interesting that Eddie is going the WBC route with Bellew, they are probably the least reliable for enforcing a mandatory.
