I was happy Bellew won today.

Even before Haye got injured he was looking atrocious but was still edging it. Lyle was better than Haye at Heavyweight even when Haye was at the top of his game let alone the slow, sloppy version we saw today. I don't see anything Bellew can do to beat Lyle. Ron was a harder puncher, bigger man and had the better skills imo.

Only result I can see is a stoppage Lyle win. Bellew sure as hell couldn't beat or even match most of the heavyweight opponents that Ron did nor hurt or out box Ron. A bad match up for Tony who ,lets be honest, isn't really a heavyweight to begin with (he's a heavyweight like Roy Jones was).

Bellew is too big for most of the classic champions.

6'3 220 pounds, guys like Lyle and Marciano don't have a chance.

Ron Lyle was 6'3 220 lbs and was natural heavyweight . When in jail did over 1000 pushups
a day. He was a beast !! He would monster Bellow !!

Glad bellew got the result. Always like to see a under dog come through. Against lyle though it wouldn't happen. Can see Tony getting a few decent punchers in but lyle to get him

Bellew only wins in a fight where Ron plays Apollo Creed's dad, I'm afraid. Beating an inactive cruiserweight celeb with an injury doesn't elevate you to the level where you can compete with Lyle or any of the other fringe contenders from the 70s, let alone the elite.

Lyle too powerful in this one. It was good that Bellew won last night. Haye went way...way over the top with the trash talking.

Lyle is So over rated. What was his best win.. split decision over Joe Bugner?

Bellew himself admitted he wouldn't have dared face a peak Haye, he had a hunch David could not possibly be the same force, so all power to him for guessing right.

At the end of the day Bellew is an active fighter enjoying his best form. Coming up in weight against a manufactured heavyweight is not the same risk as you might think. Certainly a manufactured heavyweight can be as good as the real thing but it never stopped them having trouble with guys coming up in weight.

Holyfield masquerading as a heavyweight never stopped him lose to Moorer and James Toney.

Ezzard Charles lost to LH Harold Johnson as a heavyweight. It's always went on.

Weirdest fight I've seen since Haye vs Wlad and Haye vs Valuev. Haye fights are pretty surreal.

    Tony.

    No question.

FFS, I could probably take out Ron at this point.

    Dude must be ancient.

If Bellew could take Hayes "monstrous power", I don't see anyone in heavyweight history knocking him out...

Or did you mean the Lyle of the mid-seventies ?

Is this a serious question ?

That dude stops Tony and David on the same night.
