Well, Bellew has to pick his poison. Either Drozd doesn't get injured and he enforces his mandatory, he fights Briedis, or he takes a unification against the man, Lebedev. All three pretty much beat him, but at the very least, a loss to the man of the division isn't as bad as losing to an up-and-comer like Briedis.

Maybe you're right, I just like the fact he says he wants a Lebedev fight and why not, it would be a massive test and he would be a massive underdog.

Boxing fans are very quick to dish out abuse to fighters who don't fight the best in their division and when a fighter says he wants to fight one of the best in his they still find reason to mock and abuse.

No, I get you. I was just pointing it out, but yeah, Bellew gets a lot of unfair criticism. Respect for him even calling out Lebedev, but really, it's a division where you don't get a chance to really protect your 0.

You either lose your 0 to an unknown up-and-comer or you fight one of the top 10 in the division. It's just way too stacked.

I remember Afolabi was a pretty big underdog against Chakhihev and Durodola was a huge underdog against Kudryashov. Really, cruiserweight might just be the worse division for a cherry-picker.

:patsch At least Bellew will fight, hes never ducked anyone and is world champion.
Respect should be shown for that, whether you like him personally or not

Not the biggest fan of Bellew, his personality is cringeworthy, that being said and if he's serious, you have to pay him respect for wanting to fight the best in his division and not milking the belt, whether you think he's going to get sparked or not. As a Brit I will be rooting for the win although I don't think he beats Leb.

Good post, mate! Cruiser weight is truly a way too stacked to be sure holding on for your title for long.Lebedev has done a pretty good job so far,but even his time will soon be over.New might forces are comming up.
Usyk may be the one to be the king of the hill for a very long time but my guess is that he moves up a weight class to the big boys after some defences at cruiser weight.
