Was just wondering why fans have been giving him abuse. Eddie Hearn Tweeted before about British people giving him abuse. I don't see why he gets all the stick. I'd love Tony to bring the belts home as the UK needs as much World Champions as possible. From what I have seen of Tony as a person. He absolutely loves the sport, got the right attitude and he's one of the best pundits I know. Does Tony get the hate because of his previous fights against Chilemba because lets be honest, Chilemba is a boring fighter and will make most people look bad.
It was initially right after the first chilemba fight where he claimed he beat chilemba easily etc generally acted a bit of a dick and he got a lot of stick for it. He was well liked on these forums before all that. I personally went off him after a lot of his twitter stuff as well, although I do think he's a really good pundit. he's not one of those fighters that doesn't even watch boxing, he knows his stuff. Il be rooting for him on Saturday though.
I hugely like Tony Bellew. He epitomises everything I like in a boxer and a sportsman. He'll win surprisingly easily vs Stevenson. Free money!
I hope you are right, would be nice to have another Brit champ, i'm expecting Bellew to gets stopped though.
He acted like a complete ***** in the first Chilemba fight, I've warmed to him a bit as a pundit tho. Don't think he's a bad guy. Hes getting knocked out on Saturday tho, Stevenson is the real deal
i love Bellew !! a Realistic man, love his interviews & what he says He'll definitly be champion saturday night!! ....watch!!!
:good yea..thats what i meant to say...but my english aint good....yea he hipotamoses everything i like in a man too!
SCOUSE!!!! dont underestimate that accents effect on people! brilliant on sky as a pundit, might need a bit of a Sky/Hearn special deal to win this one though
Bit of a marmite personality,I think. Not a shrinking violet, but that helped when he came face to face with the bully the other day.No signs of him being fazed. As said a great pundit as well, interesting guy.I think he's going to do a Honeyghan on Saturday, minus the stoppage.Kovalev could get a shock too.Staying up for this one,and strongly rooting for Bellew. Not a hater.
I rate him as a pundit. I also randomly ended up watching the Hatton v Senchenko fight with him in a bar in Liverpool and he was quite happy to pose for photos, chat about boxing etc. Not up his own arse in the slightest, I wish him well for Saturday.
acted a bit of a **** after the 1st chilemba fight. Other than that he seems pretty sound. I'll be setting my alarm and routing for Tony
Great passionate man, done very well so far in his career, wish him all the best for Saturday / Sunday
