I feel like a complete c*nt for writing off this man tonight and I'm going to eat some humble pie. First of all, no one was a loser tonight. Both men were winners in my eyes. This was a battle of two men who gave it everything and emptied the tank completely to the final bell. Both Cleverly and Bellew deserve nothing but praise after such a grueling contest. Tony Bellew - hold your head high lad. Credit to the sport. You were fantastic and fought like a man possessed. No one loss that fight. Have to say I nearly shed a tear after the post fight interview. ps Tony fights like that he will defiantly be a world champion in the future, NO DOUBT.
Agree with all of this apart from nearly crying at the end. I just downed my tin of beer and lifted aloft the empty can to the screen in a show of manly respect. Lad.
i felt for tony then in that interveiw sobbing his eyes! wish i had a dad what thought the world of me when i was a kid like him!! well done tony your the champ without the belt in my eyes!!!
Haha maybe I'm abit soft (well clearly) but Bellew seems a genuine bloke with a big heart. I just felt it was so harsh for anyone to take a L tonight. There was defiantly no clear winner for me.
I felt for him too. He put in so much and it wasn't enough. He'll feel better about tonight in time and he'll get another shot.
At least I wasn't the only one Prior to the fight I didn't think much of Tony but after tonight he has shown a different side to himself- He is genuinely top bloke that only wants to do the best for his family, and has a massive heart. Tony Bellew, Take a f*cking bow son.
You couldn't ask anymore of him. He brought his A game no doubt. He can be really proud of his effort.
