i consider him to be a very good fighter. a more rounded lightheavy version of pavlik. should pick up one of the titles in the near future.
is this the real tony bellew? if so, believe in yourself and go after one of the titles in the next 12 to 16 months. you have the ability to do it. and in style. good luck for the fight with mirander. you'll knock him out no probs.
No worries Tony. Always worth a try. Time to get onto Eddie Hearn then. I am guessing I have **** all chances of getting a freebie lol.:good
Been following Bellew since the Atoli Moore fight, which i saw something special about him, thought from then he'd win a world title one day! He was a banger but after the first McKenzie fight he adapted to boxing rather than fighting, this has improved his class....I had him winning Clev so ineffect he should be world champ now, and that should answer your question....The futures bright the futures bomber !!
good to see you getting your recognition on ringside lately, was good to hear eddie hearn bigging you up about your dedication to your craft. I'm working in the uae at the moment so its hard to get to see all the fights i used to but yourself and pricey are two i always look out for!
I like tony bellew Always comes to fight hard, gives 100% and can punch a bit as well. Have a feeling he may struggle against the very best in the world at his weight (no offence tony, hopefully you would prove me wrong) but i'd be watching anyway, which is the main thing. good luck with your next fight mate :good
I think he is a well rounded boxer, from a technical point of view. He has no glaring massive flaws, but..? He does nothing from a technical point of view to distinction standard its just good. He's got a good jab, he can throw straight punches and hooks, he can cover up, and understands how to move about the ring and use the area. He's a big strong lad at 175, and this is probably his best asset. His size and strength, he's 6"4 that's a decent size for a heavyweight. But he does not have great speed, he's does not have great athleticism, his power is ok.....but it's nothing special. But the funny thing is..? Nobody at 175 is known for their punching power. Psychologically i don't think he has much Vision or Imagination. The best football players can see a play in its initial stages and anticipate 3-4 shots ahead, that's why some strikers are always in the right position! are always their to capitalize. A boxer like Floyd Mayweather or Bernard Hopkins, pretty much know at times what their opponents are going to do, they anticipate attacks, and recognise rhythm.........at there best! inside of the ring this is what they are trying to do mentally! Bernard Hopkins stated that every fighter has a rhythm, great boxers recognised this, and can anticipate moves and attacks, and what this does..? It makes you appear faster physically. Because you are not just reacting to the action, you are not just seeing a punch and moving out of the way. You are anticipating ****, so you are positioning yourself knowing that a jab is coming, a back hand is coming, he's going to throw that combination again etc.... Only genius boxers have this ability this extra sense, beyond..........."sight, hearing, smell"....... Infact is best asset is his image, personality and aura.
could be like nigel benn in that he only shows his boxing skills later on his career. benn was very raw early on in his career (like tony) well ill be very surprised if he doesn't win a world title. the only thing that can stop him is bad luck (injuries, meeting someone really special, **** with promotors etc) he's got the skills and right attitude.
Bellers, when you are in the ring do you at the opponent's hands or do you watch their legs to anticipate a punch?:think
my favourite boxer to watch live in person and although hes a blue im a fully paid up member of the bombers army!! gutted i cant make a london away day but hopefully tony can get back into the echo and tear the roof off the place in another world title fight!!:bbb
